Today's TeaPoll and discussion topic. Phase 2. Continuing on the theme started yesterday. On an average day, do you spend more time in the process of BREWING TEA or PREPARING FOOD? Please share.

Re: Tuesday TeaDay 7/20/10 I cook longer than you brew?
Well as I am a professional chef I would say I spend more time preparing food. however at home it is the other way around.
Re: Tuesday TeaDay 7/20/10 I cook longer than you brew?
Preparing food of course which takes me at least one hour per day.
I quite often brew tea while preparing food.
Keemun this morning.

Food.
But only by a smidgen.
Good tea does take some time and attention.
Two fisted - finishing up puerh and final infusions of shincha.

Food. Because tea doesn't generally take that long to prepare, and because I am not really the type to make "quick fix" sorts of foods. I do love making things from scratch as often as I have time for

Preparing food - I do it at night for the following day, normally a bit in the morning - also for that day's breakfast/lunch, then there's dinner, which usually takes about an hour (not including cleanup, so call it an hour and a half), plus any additional baking (like last night, when I spent another probably 20 mins making dessert). And don't even get me started on bread-making: prep is 20-30 mins, then wait, then another 15-20 mins, then wait, then another 10 mins, then bake for 30min to an hour, then cool, then slice... then there's cake/other pastries: 15-30 min prep, 1 hr bake, 2 hrs cool, and at least 30 mins to decorate...
Tea is pretty simple - especially at work, where I end up drinking most of my tea at least on weekdays. Yea, food wins on this one too.
No tea yet, headed out the door to go to work. Thinking Snowbud today.

It is a toss up only because it takes longer to make food then a cup of tea. However, I am sure some days I have made more tea than food.

It's a toss-up! I don't do a lot of cooking; DH Ed does some of it. It takes time making tea, because I'm just getting used to making tea a different way than I did for most of my life. I used to brew mostly black British style, and now I drink other teas, and use an IngenuiTea, and other cups and a kyusu, etc.
Received my Golden Lion from Lochan yesterday; customs slit the bag the tea was in and now I'm scrambling for something in which to store this huge amount of delicious tea!

NOT a toss-up for me at all. Chip is the resident Chef at home as he loves to cook, I am the sous chef!
I do quite well at clean-up!
He also is the Teameister at home as well, however at work I brew. So tea it is!
Enjoying a nice keemun this morning, I needed a little extra boost today.
Enjoyed of course shincha ... I can't believe I don't remember which one
... at home with the Mod, along with SweeTea, Shincha and Wuulong dropping by for 'treats'!
The Shincha was quite good, not unforgettable at all, I just don't remember the name.
Enjoy your TeaDay everyone!

Food for sure, especially when trying to eat healthier and prepare more meals "from scratch."
Some Nilgiri Glendale Frost tea in my cup this morning. I've never tried frost tea, and am not quite sure yet if I like this one or not.

Brewing TEA TEA TEA! Work keeps me from being home to cook unfortunately, because I do enjoy it. Just a little on the weekends, but tea is a constant thing.

More hours when tea is brewing than food is cooking, but that's only because tea is a companion when cooking too!

For me, it depends where I am. At school, the only cooking I do is making hot cereal or microwaving something-- the dorms don't have stoves or anything like that-- so tea definitely wins. At home, I help my mom cook dinner, but tea probably edges out food by a bit. It depends upon whether my mom is working a night shift, though, because those days (like tonight) I do most of the cooking.
Keemun is my first tea of the day.

Kind of a toss up...some days it´s tea and some days it´s food...sometimes I just make quick things like sandwiches and salads then the tea wins, other days I really get cooking to make something special and then the tea doesn´t have a chance.
Re: Tuesday TeaDay 7/20/10 I cook longer than you brew?
Isn't tea food?
Well, I have to go with food because I'm not a fast food kind guy, but the ratio is definitely started to swing towards tea.
