by Chip » Jul 21st, '10, 01:52

TeaDay has been declared. It is your right to share what is in your cup throughout the day. 8)

Yesterday we discussed whether we spent more time cooking ... or brewing. You can still vote and discuss yesterday's topic.

Today's TeaPoll and discussion topic. Again TEA versus FOOD wars. Do you spend more time SHOPPING for and BUYING FOOD or TEA? Please be sure to share!

I am looking forward to sharing this TeaDay with everyone, bottoms up.

Hahaha! This is soooo easy! Waaaaaaaaaaaaay more time shopping for tea. I am shopping or looking at tea virtually everyday it seems.

Grocery shopping - hold on to your hats - I go grocery shopping once every SIX weeks, sometimes further out. I can't even believe it when I say it out loud.

Food of course.
Most of my tea arrives in my mail box so I don't need more than two minutes to get it. If I add the time needed for ordering it, less than ten minutes per bag.

Kanro gyokuro this morning.

V, I wish I could do that, but I'd need 6 refrigerators (or a REALLY big chest freezer) and a really nice garden to be able to make that work. a) I love fresh produce, and b) I cook for 4 adults nearly every night, sometimes more, so the amount of food required is rather substantial. Sundays after grocery trips, the fridge is packed full!

Definitely food for me - I spend about an hour prepping to go to the store (menu, grocery list, things we're out of, coupons, etc.), and about an hour at the store. So about 2 hrs a week, and I definitely don't look at buying tea nearly that much - budget doesn't allow for it. *gasp* I haven't actually bought tea in about 2 months - last order was in May, and I've been trying not to tempt myself with what I want when it's time for the next order.

Well admittedly I must go to the drive thru dairy for milk
and quick stops at Trader Joe's for produce on the way
home from work in between.

Tea Emporium Puttabong Queen for me this morning.

Have a nice day everyone!

Grocery shopping wins when I'm at home-- when I'm at school, however, I only go grocery shopping once a week, so I spend more time drooling over...uh, I mean, looking at... online tea shops.

Lapsang souchong this morning. I'm almost out, I'll have to save that last serving until I go to NYC and can get to Chinatown.

Lately, I spend more time buying food. But this is only because I have accumulated so much tea that I am trying to make myself not buy anymore until I make a dent in what I have :)

Yeah, FOOD. If it were up to me, much more of my budget would go toward TEA! But then I might get to the point of panicking to use everything up before it gets too stale. What a terrible dilemma!

A Yunnan Golden Pekoe in my cup this morning. Yum.
