Welcome aboard and good TeaDay to you. Stop in here and share what is in your cup throughout the day.
The good ship TeaChat has set sail for TeaLands unknown. All TCers are all onboard with all their teas and wares. Let the serious TeaDrinking begin.
Over the weekend we discussed what TeaWares would find their way into our TeaTrunks for this TeaCruise. You can still vote and discuss yesterday's topic.
Today's TeaPoll and discussion topic. Be sure to read this entire post. Now that we are all sailing the high seas aboard the TeaChat, you can now share teas with everyone, and everyone will share tea with you. So, what tea(s) will you seek out first? Please share.
I am looking forward to sharing this TeaDay and teas with everyone. Bottoms up!

Kame Gyokuro from O-Cha that Chip plans on bringing. I've been wanting him to make me a cuppa' ever since I joined!

This one is easy: I'll be looking to share some well-prepared matcha, to confirm that my impression of matcha is not solely based on my poor preparation technique.
After that, who knows? will it be to find a special example of a tea I already like, or one that I have never really enjoyed before, like a black tea from Ceylon?

+1. On a ship full of TeaFanatics, surely there must be some exquisitely prepared matcha to be had.debunix wrote:This one is easy: I'll be looking to share some well-prepared matcha
Having some non-exquisitely prepared sencha today. But it does the job.
Re: Monday TeaDay 8/9/10 Set sail, operation "share tea!"
+1 again. That and any other green I can get someone else to brew properly for me. Then after that, seeking out Victoria for some oolong brewing tips.Trey Winston wrote:+1. No tea yet, on my way out the door.

Unknown Keemun in my cup this morning at work after a very yummmmmmmmmy tasting of YM from O-Cha with the hubby while Shincha, Ceylon and Wulong just hung out at the TeaTable with the other koolkatz.
I would search out a Pu-Head to get the best possible tasting of pu-erh on the ship.
Have a wonderful day everyone, and drink and share your teas with us here on TeaDay.

This is what I was thinking, too. Though the well-prepped matcha also sounds good because, while I do enjoy the stuff, I'm sure I'm not doing it justice.Mrs. Chip wrote:I would search out a Pu-Head to get the best possible tasting of pu-erh on the ship.

If I could just sneak in a few extra teas, I think I could give a pretty good series of pu intro tastings with as few as, 4 teas....one nice shu, the super mellow white bud sheng, a more powerful leaf like a Lao Ban Zhang, and then, perhaps if we could pool our resources, some really fine aged pu....

I would want to try gyokuro, since I've heard so many good things about it, and yellow tea, because I've never tried that kind of tea at all and I'm curious about it. If it's possible to sneak one more in... I'd really want to try white tea with rose petals.
I love the taste of rose petals, whether in tea or candy.
Just finished up several cups of Keemun. The first tea in my mom and brother's new house was-- in the wee hours of this morning after a looooong day of moving yesterday-- jasmine sencha. Mmm!

Would definately be interested in trying well prepared greens, so far no mater how careful i am, timer, thermometer, etc, i just dont like the finished product. I would also take this chance to try teas i have never tried like matcha, gykuro, darjeeling as well as pu erh.
Norbu's alishan oolong this morning.

Awww thanks Laura, I'll have some top of the line oolongs with me! I'll be searching out Trey Winston for an expertly made cup of Silver Needle and some conversation.LauraW wrote: ... Then after that, seeking out Victoria for some oolong brewing tips.
Later I'll stop by Brandon's table and see if he can woo me with wuyi.
LOL
In my cup this morning Tea Emporium Puttabong Queen.

+1 on both. I am very interested in pu-erh and would love to learn/taste about it. Have my first samples on the way and am very excited! Also, seeing an expert prepare matcha would also be great.TubbyCow wrote:This is what I was thinking, too. I am sure there would be great things to learn all around for us that have only received information from the internet!
Still a bit new to all this to be much of a contributor though.
Sadly not much tea today, Been a bit off all day today. Just some yunnan black in the morning. Maybe some Miyabi shincha to pick me up this afternoon.

I would be searching out the lovers of some enigmatic teas (for me) including the wuyi, dan cong, high fired, roasted and whatever other torture they do to these poor oolongs.
Then find the real deal pu-erh!
As someone already mentioned, began the TD with Yutaka Midori Supreme from the O-C. I might smuggle this on board as well!
Re: Monday TeaDay 8/9/10 Set sail, operation "share tea!"
I think I would hang around Chip to try more Japanese greens!
