Welcome everyone to a weekend TeaDay. You are all invited to share what is in your cups with us throughout the weekend.
Yesterday we discussed the need of consuming twice as much of our fave teas. You can still vote and discuss yesterday's topic.
This weekends TeaPoll and discussion topic. Rank in order of importance/helpfulness/usefulness to you, the best source of information on TEA. For the poll, simply your #1 source? Please share.
I am looking forward to sharing this weekends TeaDays with everyone. Bottoms up.

TeaChat is my preferred source of TeaNformation. I always come here first if there's something I want to know.
No tea so far today, and it doesn't look like there'll be any. <Sob>

+1. Might check something somewhere else as well, but generally I'll try here first.Trey Winston wrote:TeaChat is my preferred source of TeaNformation. I always come here first if there's something I want to know.

That's a very interesting question! I am often not sure where I should I get my information. Obviously there are too few tea books. There should be more!
I choose "other" because I have a list of questions that I am confused about, and I would ask the same questions to whoever I have the luck to meet with. I ask one question to different people and enjoy comparing their answers. It's not that I don't trust a single person, but more because the answer may not be in one person's reply.

In my cup this mroning - when I finally make it downstairs to breakfast - some jasmine pearls from Teaspring.
I do read vendor websites also, but generally the vendors that I trust are those I learned about here.Trey Winston wrote:TeaChat is my preferred source of TeaNformation. I always come here first if there's something I want to know.

So far I've based most of my choices on descriptions and user reviews on tea vendor sites.
Tried a citrus flavored black tea this morning (can't remember the name off hand). It was ok, but not one I'd drink every day. Still not a huge fan of flavored teas.

Most of it comes from here.

The most reliable information that I get comes from Teachat.
Hou de's Bei Dou #1 this morning in a xiao hong ni pot. Eight grams in a 180ml pot produced big flavor. Mmmm.

I got most of my tea information from forums because it's like a user review area for me. Vendor sites want to sell their product so of course they will rave about it...people on forums are more real about the taste and quality of something.
As for today's tea, I will try my new Assam white Satrupa estate from Simpson and Vail.

Blogs used to be my #1 source but since discovering teachat I don´t read them as often anymore. So forums are my #1 source now. I like how it is more dynamic and I can get opinions from many people instead of just the blogger and a few comments.

TeaChat is my #1 source of info, followed by blogs and other internet sources. I like teachat because you can draw from a much larger pool of information/experience than other places.
Two pots of mystery pu today at work, first pot i got called away so instead of steeping for 10 min, it sat for 30. luckily it was only about 1 tsp of loose leaf to a 16 oz pot so it wasn too bad, just a bit bitter which was remedyed with sugar. i prefer many shorter infusions, but at work i usually just brew the lazy way.

Ummm, I get all my info from the Teavana site!
In the last several years the majority of the info I needed or did not need and found anyway came from TeaChat. TeaChat offers interaction and banter that the other choices cannot approach.
Not enough tea today, but good tea. Began the TeaDay with Warashina Supreme from the O-C. Next up, kukicha with the Mrs.

Most of my info comes from TeaChat & blogs. Both are great places to learn about tea IMHO.
Busy weekend, not much tea. I did just finish a session with Nada's 2010 Banpen though. I was less impressed than last time. The energy and kuwei are nice, but it's lacking a bit in complexity of flavor. Oh well, my sample is gone anyway.
