Re: Monday TeaDay 8/30/10 Tea of the month?
By far it was the 1997 Henlichang Bulang from EoT, which by coincidence is the only tea I had today.

Japanese Green...Fuga Super Premium from Zencha
It´s very dark green, with a thick, smooth mouthfeel, a touch of sweetness and bitterness in balance. It also lasts longer than any other sencha I have tried...I typically get 6 infusions from it, sometimes more. Other senchas I never get much flavour past the 4th infusion...I think of it as mild, complex and deep. I´m enjoying it more and more as I get to know it...and amazingly it´s knocked out O-Cha´s Yutaka Midori Supreme and become my favourite sencha.

Jun Shan Yin Zhen (Yellow Silver Needle) from TeaSpring. A wonderful tea.

Hey everyone! I just got back from a trip to the upper peninsula of Michigan last week. My brother and his wife live in Laurium while going to Michigan Tech. If anyones familiar with the area its north of Houghton. It was a fun trip, mainly because I haven't seen the two of them since Chrishmas but its a beautiful area and the weather was just perfect.
Green wins! Fukamushi shincha from o-cha to be specific. I just love the dark green in my cup with the strong sencha taste.
seasonal da hong pao in my cup this morning.

This month was black and herbal. Lots of Earl Grey and English Breakfast, plus lots of teas with chamomile and lavender in them.
English Breakfast in the cup this morning. Yummy. I'm hoping to get my new tea order later today so that I can try out some jasmine pearl and pu erh.

It was a black this month - '10 Jinggu Golden Strand Pure Bud Yunnan Black from Yunnan Sourcing. By the time my order arrived and I decided I loved it, they were out. Found some that looks to be the same at Norbu tea so put in an order there. It is my new daily morning tea.
Adagio Master's Ali Shan in my cup right now.

My tea of the month was probably Turzum Darjeeling. I really have been enjoying it. Yum!

i dont know that i really had a tea of the month this month. tried several puerh and would probably count one of those. Oolongs are still my faorite but i think they are going to be an occasional treat because they seem to cause heartburn, i dont seem to have this problem with the puerhs i have tried, so if i can find one i really like, this may become by everyday tea.
Starting out theday with a mao xie oolong from norbu, its been about two weeks since i had an oolong so i figured what the heck.

My tea order is here! Hooray! My very first gaiwan and pu erh samples.
This afternoon's cup was my first try of jasmine pearl green. It turns out I am not a floral tea kind of person.
Smells really good, though.

Even though I tried several new Teas, my fav for August was the same as for July -- 2nd Flush 2010 Hattialli Golden Lion Assam from Lochan Teas.
In fact, have had two cups of it today already.

I might say pu-erh was my "tea of the month" ... could you believe that. It is a tough call, lots of interesting teas this month and was winding down on shincha.
So, OTTI 4 had some interesting shincha from Rishi and Zencha. They were all quite good. But I will give the nod to the 5 sheng prelim tastings I had this past week or so, I enjoyed them very much and they were quite a diversion for this green guy.
So, young sheng from Essence of Tea aka Nada and The Mandarins Tearoom aka TIM soared to the top of my personal list.

I really enjoyed white teas, especially flavored this month as well as rooibos teas. I'm getting ready to brew up some vanilla chai spice rooibos for me and my hubby in a few, I add a little vanilla creamer to it and it's soooo good!

pu'er this month.
Feeling a little short on cash I decided to dig deeper into the tea cupboard - found some generous pu samples I'd long forgotten about. Thanks Salsero, amongst others.
