Anywhere from casual to structured, and routine to ceremonious.
Always not enough.

Always gratifying, usually too short or interrupted during work days.
Turzum Darjeeling in my cup this morning. I just reordered 300gr of this, so you'll be seeing it a lot.

Fun, casual, routine. I drink tea because I like it, and try to do it properly, but wouldn't necessarily consider myself to be a tea snob... Or would I?.. Anyway, I don't get overly serious about it (except that I don't just go and buy just any tea that I run into) and I'm always open to sharing my stash with friends.
As for routine, well, I tend to drink tea at certain times of day. Typically with breakfast, maybe mid-morning or around lunch time, mind-afternoon, and one in late afternoon or evening.
Earl Grey this morning. Later will probably be the V93 or Da yi gong tuo. Undecided.

I would say gratifying and not ceremonial at all (even when using my chabako).

Thanks ... perhaps because they each have some application on a personal level at one time or another. I took the easy way and checked them all.brandon wrote:Intense, ceremonious, and gratifying.

For ceremonious, it is more of a personally created ceremony ...

i've only a few tea events more focused on social than actual tea education
never thought about having my own tea time but i guess it would be Intense, ceremonious, and gratifying- if i was to fly solo

90% casual and routine. Not sure if that's good or not. You have the comfort factor but it can also lead to boredom...and coffee drinks.

Re: Thursday TeaDay 8/2/10 TeaTime described?
My tea time is usually pretty laid back, i am usually making/drinking tea while web surfing, watching tv or reading. (or lately studying, im starting to remember why i didnt like school). I also checked other, being scatterbrained/distracted. if i am reading, etc theres not much chance of oversteeping the tea, but if im doing laundry/dishes etc and forget to set the timer (which happens alot)
. So i really like teas that can sit and sit and not get bitter.
Finished off the mao xie today. This afternoon enjoyed some imperial pu while studying.

I chose casual, fun, exciting and gratifying, I should have also checked "other", because for me, tea is also so often calming, soothing, and comforting...

My tea sessions are introspective, focused, fun, ceremonious, gratifying, structured, and routine. The ceremonious aspect comes from the structure-- I like simple teatimes.
Chrysanthemum pu-erh earlier today; drinking a chrysanthemum tisane right now. Very chrysanthemum-y day.
