by Chip » Sep 8th, '10, 01:02

Good TeaDay. It is another TeaDay! Please do drop in and share what is in your cup throughout the day.

Yesterday we discussed pairings that go best with tea. You can still vote and discuss yesterday's topic.

Today's TeaPoll and discussion topic. Taking your response to yesterday's poll/topic. What is the better pairing, yesterday's response, or your tea and teaware. I am thinking as you sit and sip ... what would you consider best?

I am looking forward to sharing this TeaDay with everyone. Bottoms up!

No question - tea and teaware.
I love vibing out which chawan calls each morning.
These days it's all about the chawan. The rest of my tea ware is experiencing some neglect.

Hitting some aged shou puerh. Mmmm.

(oop, forgot - paid some attention to non-chawan teaware today with OTTI 5 -- dragon gaiwan, celedon dragon teacup, yixing teaboat, yixing teapot.)
:D

Close, but likely teaware. Love how the teaware enhances
the tea and the experience.

For me they go together. My tuesday pic was Teachat, and while I love teaware, Teachat is where I go to groove on my teaware, appreciate its nuace, see what others are doing, etc. Sure, I still have fun with my teaware when I'm not on TC, and I have fun on TC when I'm using my uninspiring teaware (c'mon we all have some), but its combining the two that really knocks one out of the park.

Poll response, definitely. I still have been able to avoid the teaware bug.

No tea so far today, but I'm eyeing a tin of White Peony.

Yesterday's response, definitely. I enjoy my teaware, but I don't have enough of it to say it's my favorite.. reading definitely still tops the list.

No tea yet, on my way to work.

Yesterday's vote still rules. Reading.

Golden Lion assam from Lochan again this morning. I'm really enjoying this Tea. Guess I probably should get a little variety into my life and try a few more samples that I haven't tried yet.

I have to agree with art mom, reading definately over tea ware. as much as i enjoy tea and tea ware, if i had to choose, reading definately wins. Iv been reading since i was four and have always enjoyed it. (except for school textbooks, but that doesnt count). im not sure that anything will ever over throw reading as #1.

Currently debating between bai mu tan and an old plantation oolong.

Starting another day with Turzum Darjeeling from Tea Emporium.
Unusual weather here, it's sort of "misting".

Every day, and somtimes multiple times a day, the choice of which particular teaware to use at this particular time comes into play. And it is a combination of function and aesthetics.

I want to match the feel of the wares to either where I am, or where I want to be.

If I didn't firmly believe that the aesthetics were an important factor in the experience... I likely would not be a potter  .

best,

.................john

Not a big teaware "collector" so family time and TeaChat are my favorite times with tea.

I can say most definitely tea and teaware, and it does not have to be some expensive teaware. For instance shortly I will be using $1 Chinatown cups at my MIL's along with a cheap old kyusu that I have used for almost 10 years.

Began the TD with a sencha tasting paired with the broken/repaired Kikumare kyusu and a sansai Hagi SO cup. SweeTea was present for this tasting while Fuji and Pyrit stopped by the TeaTable today.

Next up, a fukamushi paired with the same sansai cup.

Having a great time with Korean Tea Today! It was a well needed break now back to the grind of things.

It remains my pick from yesterday. I love my teaware, and those that are paired are great, but I don't have the best of the best teaware and I could use better. It would have to be better than I have now.

Right now I'm sitting drinking raspberry lychee black tea, and I made a cup for my friend who is feeling low energy.

Music still stands for me. While I do enjoy nice teaware, I'm really fine with a porcelain gaiwan & cup. The tea itself is what interests me the most.

Not much time for tea today, had a quick session of Sungma FF Darjeeling that was so-so :| . I used straight tap water which is never a good idea..
