Re: Tuesday TeaDay 9/14/10 Crave Factor 2010, GREEN?
I fear I may be seen fickle as I again mark 10: today I am already craving some Jin Xuan that I will not be able to access again until tomorrow at work, as the open package is there. Other times, other green teas craved for.....and when craved for, no more resisted than puerhs.
Re: Tuesday TeaDay 9/14/10 Crave Factor 2010, GREEN?
I love the green taste...the greener tasting the better...maybe it just goes back to my wheatgrass juice days...there's just something so vibrant and alive in a very green tasting green tea...maybe it's the chlorophyll
Re: Tuesday TeaDay 9/14/10 Crave Factor 2010, GREEN?
Green can be too general
Pu-erh tea can be purchased as either raw/green (sheng) or ripened/cooked (shu), depending on processing method or aging. Sheng pu-erh can be roughly classified on the tea oxidation scale as a green tea, and the shou or aged-green variants as post-fermented tea. The fact that pu-erh fits in more than one tea type poses some problems for classification. For this reason, the "green tea" aspect of pu-erh is sometimes ignored, and the tea is regarded solely as a post-fermented product.

Anyway, loving Jap/Chinese Green tea more than Puerh tea.

Today I am craving some Oriental Beauty, which sucks because I rehomed it to my office and am not going in today. Instead I am brewing some light TGY in my itty bitty gaiwan.
Edit - switched to a formosa oolong, the light TGY was just not satisfying the crave. The darker formosa is doing just dandy.

I have gone from "hate" to "tolerate" over the years. I don't crave them, but occasionally try a new one and keep some in stock. Lately, I've been enjoying them as iced teas.

I crave green in the spring, and shift to more roasted tea later in the year. My goal is to finish most of my greens by the beginning of winter

For about the last 2 years, I have started every morning with a lovely cup of sencha with Chip. There's no better way to start the day!
Of course sencha is the focus of attention in our home, so # 10 it is for me.
SO Sansai wan was filled with green this morning, even Shincha decided to take a peek at the lovely color and aroma.
Have a wonderful TeaDay everyone!

Around march/april time the cravings start. As spring is rearing its head I start to crave fresh green tea and sunshine. Not so much at this time of year.
Re: Tuesday TeaDay 9/14/10 Crave Factor 2010, GREEN?
I do sometimes crave Japanese greens! None so far today though, white peony in my cup.
Re: Tuesday TeaDay 9/14/10 Crave Factor 2010, GREEN?
Green reminds me of new mown grass. Nice fragrence on a summer day, but not something I actually want to drink. Maybe I just haven't been introduced to the right green tea yet?
Yunnan jig this morning.

I like the occasional green. At the moment, I actually am craving some sakura sencha. Luckily for me, I have an unopened package of it hanging around in the kitchen. I know what I'll be having after lunch.
I've been drinking a bagged Punjana (or previously Trader Joe's) brand Irish Breakfast blend every morning since I moved, solely because I ran out of loose leaf blacks and hadn't bothered to order more. A very sorry state of affairs, indeed, which I've just now remedied.
