Awesome stuff. It looks quite the real deal from here...I was looking at the granulated stuff that can be seen on it like the following example:

Excuse me if I am being too impulsive as my knowledge on this topic is still in its infancy, lol.

Re: yixing clay teapot made by myself
the clay i use is called jiang po clay from huanglong mountain
their quality is very good ,the surface is quite smooth, the teapot will become glossy only after a small period of time

It seems that Jay has been a busy boy, and has sent PMs to members soliciting business. This despite several attempts to show him the ropes of the forum. I have reined in his ability to PM anyone.
Please let me know if he has contacted you. I would just delete any PMs from him w/o opening.
Thanks,
Chip

... tried to be nice ...
Trying to bring international cultures into our discussion is a challenge I won't give up on, but this one is a dry well, and banned. Please do not reward his misconduct.

An enterprising man who seems to make very nice teapots. And, from Yixing using Huanglong Mt. clay! You should have given him carte blanche, Chip. He's got to make a living. I want him back!
Re: yixing clay teapot made by myself
I wonder if he really made them or if he posted pics of someone else's pots to draw in his first customers.

TeaChat is still linking to his Taobao site. Chip, you should fix that.

Patient vendor members will have opps here. But they are not going to come in and send 16 PMs to a member, not to mention numerous other offenses. I tried to assist him several times, but he obviously did not have any respect for the forum, its members, nor its rules.
He was also untruthful on some points in his discussion on the IM. I doubt he made the pots, I doubt their clay source ... but this was not a factor in his banishment.

Thanks, I usually delete the posts right away, etc.Mr. Usaji wrote:TeaChat is still linking to his Taobao site. Chip, you should fix that.

What gave you the impression he wasn't making the pots himself? I never thought of that since he stated in his thread title 'made by myself'.Chip wrote:Unfortunately, everyone has to make a living ...Tead Off wrote:An enterprising man who seems to make very nice teapots. And you believe every Taobao seller?Tead Off wrote:What gave you the impression he wasn't making the pots himself? I never thought of that since he stated in his thread title 'made by myself'.
This was my opinion based upon the extended discussion on the IM.
But as I already stated, that had nothing to do with his banishment. I cut him a couple breaks and spent more time than I should have trying to redeem the situation ... I would have loved to have another Yixing potter on the forum, but not at any cost. The third strike was spam PMs to members that were reported to me Friday morning ... 16 to one member alone.
This is not a "Yixing potter" that would be a good member of TeaChat. You can look for him on Taobao.
I actually left this topic on the forum to allow members to see the process and for transparency.
Re: yixing clay teapot made by myself
I've never shopped on Taobao. I was just curious what made you believe he wasn't the maker.
