Welcome to Weekend TeaRoom TeaDay! Let's have fun learning a little more about each other and what we like. Remember to share what is in your cup throughout the day!
Please continue to share your thoughts about our TeaChat TeaShirt/Apparel in yesterday's topic.
This weekend's TeaRoom poll and discussion topic ... we will be sharing "What INANIMATE object or thing makes you most happy" not including the obvious, TEA? Please discuss and have fun with it!
I am looking forward to learning more about our TCers and sharing this time together. Bottoms up!

Re: Weekend TeaDay 9/25-26/10 Inanimate happiness?
great topic, Chip. I always enjoy reading what other people's hobbies, etc. are...Picking one is too tough, but I chose Hobbies/crafts.
I have a world of different things that make me happy. I collect a few things (old safety razors and old fishing lures) and love to go fishing, camping, hiking and bike riding. On a good weekend, I'll do all of them. On a bad weekend, I skip the camping to enjoy my recliner.
I'm also a den leader in Cub Scouts, and working with the kids (including my own who is a Webelo) is a great way to relieve some of the stress I deal with at work.
Have a great weekend, everyone!

This was a tough one - I couldn't decide between house (what does east and west wings mean? Just that its big?) and books. In the end I went with books. I totally geek out over books

I'm a sucker for cars. My own car is not the least bit fancy, but it makes me happy to have it. If I wanted, I could get in it right now and be in Italy tomorrow. That kind of freedom is priceless.
No tea yet today, but I'm contemplating SN.

I chose "Hobby/Craft" because it came as close as I could find; but really, there are no "things" that bring me happiness. It is actions that bring my life meaning and pleasure. My work as an artist brings me intense happiness, fulfillment and pleasure. It is not the finished jewelry I am after, but the joy in the process of creating.

There's a number of things that bring me happiness on this list but I chose to go with techy toys. I love learning about new tech.
Currently, I'm drinking water. I ran out of the Irish Breakfast sampler that had become my morning tea. Last night, I tried the Mango flavored tea and didn't like it at all and now I'm scared to pick something else.
I'll probably try White Peach later today though.
ETA: I decided to give the Mango flavor another go and it's not so bad this time. I probably did something wrong on the first brew.

Well, I needed two votes -- books and techy toys -- because I read my books on a Kindle!!!
Chip, we're never happy with the choices are we?

I said music, no joke- before I had a job I used to spend between 8 and 12 hours a day listening to music, everything from bluegrass to trip-hop, I love music so much, especially stuff with good lyrics.

This is surely a tough topic, but a good one and I will need to give it some more thought as there are many choices in that list for me.
I agree that happiness does not ultimately come from inanimate, material things, however these things do make us happy and help us to enjoy our daily lives!
My TeaFix was fulfilled by of course a delightful Sencha from Den's this morning while Wuulong, Shincha, Moe, and Ceylon stopped by for their AM CatTreat fix!
Currently in my cup at work is a nice Black Tea ... name has been totally obliterated from my memory due to the craziness of a 3 wedding day!

Music.
I can seriously get high off of listening to the Doors, Led Zeppelin, Nirvana, and most songs by the Beatles. I get instantly happy when I listen to Queen, the Smashing Pumpkins, and Jimi Hendrix.
Ray Charles, The Coasters, Ruth Brown, Mozart, Bach, Pendrecki String Quartet, Ravi Shankar, and early Beatles instantly calms me.

Wow Quite a few book people so far.
While I really enjoy music, nothing is better than music with a book, especially as books can be written about nearly anything, so with books it is hard to get bored.

I guess I'll go with techy toys, but only because that is the only choice to include computers. Love listening to my iPod too, but mostly I enjoy being on the internet. I like reading and shopping and of course being here to connect with other tea lovers. I spend most of my free time here. It's a great place to have a cup of tea!
Started the day with Turzum Darjeeling.

I said: money, lots of it.
Because that would make cars, tech toys, freedom to read books or listen to music at your leisure possible.
But seriously It's mostly small things that make me happy. Like yesterday for example: I wet to the farmers market and there was this fantastic, overwhelming smell - the mix of lavender and concord grapes.
Having Anhui Keemun. I'm in love with this tea.

I was fortunate to be able to take early retirement several years ago, and now have time to pursue my hobby (since I'm not trying to sell anything) of making mosaics. Of course I start my day drinking tea - something which I couldn't do well while I was rushing off to work early in the morning.
I did a a taste test of 4 different Jasmine Pearls in my Adagio tea tasting sets. None were satisfying, so I took the best of the group - from Seven Cups - and brewed it in the one Yixing pot that I own - that is dedicated to Jasmine. Amazing difference - the perfumey notes were gone and the tea had a mellow green tea/floral taste. Clay really can make a difference.
