Surprisingly, I drank more green tea this month than anything else. I've made pitcher after pitcher of green iced tea. Yesterday's was a mix of Se Chung Oolong and Japanese Sencha. Not sure how it'll turn out ( it's waiting in the fridge for when I get home) but I needed to use up the last little crumbs in each bag, so mixed them.

Have not seen the show, so not sure what 'chopped' means here. In the last month have not actually sliced/minced/diced or otherwise applied a knife to any tea.....
Tuesday started with sencha (still working on the Sayamakaori from Yuuki-Cha), then moved on to a glorious brewing of Yunnan Mao Feng green tea from Norbu--got this one so amazingly perfect it was breathtakingly sweet, floral, delicately vegetal--and it sustained that over a couple of hours in the thermos (but didn't last as long as my usual afternoon preparation because several people wanted seconds, no surprise there!). For a long horrid meeting I sipped nearly an entire quart of Zhang Hsu Lake oolong from Wing Hop Fung, and now am finishing off a very satisfying session with some Tai Ping Hou Kui from WHF, which started off cool brewed (160°F) and moved up to boiling by the end of 10-12 infusions, when only a gentle sweetness is left. Just right for more horrid paperwork.

A black was "Chopped" from my collection this month. I ordered some Monk's Blend from TeaSource because I thought it sounded interesting. It was, but a bit TOO interesting. Too many flavors going on for my taste. I might try to mix it with some plain black and ice it.

I've never seen the show either but I'm assuming it means which teas we stopped drinking? In my case it was pretty much everything in my attempt to avoid caffeine. But I'm back to my oolongs (:

"Chopped" means eliminated. I had never heard of the show, but all-knowing google clued me in. It's one of those shows where contestants have to do some stuff or get eliminated, i.e. "Chopped" -- in keeping with the food metaphor. As if not being on a TV show is the worst possible fate.
This month, I haven't chopped anything. Actually, I've been accumulating wildly this month. I think the hatchet won't fall until next spring.
Tried a new Wu Yi last night, wasn't too impressed...maybe that one will go to chopping block after a few weeks.
This morning, brought my current fave: a fukamushicha yutaka midori! Couldn't live without it.

Don't think I "chopped" anything this month. Possibly because I wasn't particularly adventuresome with tea, and pretty much stuck to my favorites!

Well, I chopped a Korean green that sadly, due to certain circumstances I stopped drinking for a while only to come back to it and have it be Stale

Briefly, Chopped starts out with 4 chef contestants who are eliminated or chopped one by one ... course by course ... til one chef is left, the winner of the episode. Pretty gut wrenching show actually.

Other, because this month I 'chopped' several teas. I discarded some poorly stored and aged teas from the back of my father's tea cupboard--Lung Ching, a Yunnan black, a Wuyi, and some Ti Guan Yin--although a few newer and some cooler stored teas survived the purge. I didn't really cut those from my preferred tea lists entirely, however, just those off-tasting abused versions of them.
But I did decide that it was ok to not try any more Saemidori sencha any time soon, after trying another sample of it that was ok but not setting my taste buds dancing, because I'm simply happier with the lighter varietals I'm drinking now.

I haven't seen the show either. I "chopped" some mediocre oolong, meaning I don't intend to drink any more of it. But the worst was a green, it was so bad I only took two sips so that was immediately chopped.

Starting off the Tea day with Some 2010 Korean Sejak, from Dao Tea. I want to like this tea more than I do, perhaps I just had too high expectations of it. That being said it is not bad, it is still quite nice I was just expecting a bit more.
