Friday TeaDay 10/1/10 A River Runs Through It?

by Chip » Oct 1st, '10, 00:29

Happy TeaDay to all, and to all a good tea. Please stop in and share what is in your cup throughout the day.

Yesterday we discussed Chopped winners for the month of September. You can still vote and discuss yesterday's topic.

Today's TeaPoll and discussion topic. A river runs through it ... it has been raining so much here, that we have a "tiny creek" running through the house right now. Not a huge deal, it happens every few years.

But this made me think of the rejuvenating rains, is there something that rejuvenates your tea enjoyment when it becomes boring, stale, old? Please share.

I am looking forward to sharing this TeaDay with everyone. Bottoms up!

Haven't been at this long enough to have found my brewing to be old, boring, or stale!

Today is all puerh, all the time: some of the Norbu Lao Mansa 2009 sheng, and now some 2007 Rui Cao Xiang Wu Liang wild arbor sheng from yunnan sourcing. Way too much going on there for boredom.

Usually switching up which tea I'm drinking will do the trick.

But the occasional break from tea altogether can be needed for physiological balance and renewal of tea desire.
Could it be that when it gets stale, that is our organism's way of telling us we need to lay off the sinensis for a bit?

Cheers.

I checked "Other." Tea itself may become boring boring, stale, or old, but Tea Drinking never does!!! My cuppa' never fails to soothe, invigorate, or comfort me; it does what I need it to do. :D I'm just a Pollyanna today, eh?

Usually trying something new does the trick, though I'm with debunix - I'm still green enough with tea drinking that it hasn't really happened yet. Though I've gotten in a rut, which was solved by trying something new!

I'm thinking... last of the fujian today.

I adore the rain, it really increases the enjoyment of tea for me, I sit with the door open and watch it come down while I sip.

When I get a little bored I just switch it around, mix it with something else...and depending on the tea, add lemon or use a random sugar(sometimes it's the only change you need)

Yes definitely. As I have noted before; that was a huge difference when I switched to Darjeelings for breakfast then had my usual oolongs all day. Although I prefer oolongs, the switch up made them even more enjoyable, and I also now look forward to my morning Darjeeling.

Speaking of - this morning was from Tea Emporium.

Like artmom said an individual tea can become boring or stale but my enjoyment of tea does not. Tea is is so relaxing and soothing and it helps me feel more centered and calm...I can´t imagine tea drinking becoming boring.

I am thinking....we pour a rejuvenating rain through our leaves every time we brew a cup...and from there....tea is the rejuvenating rain.

teaday started with two bowls of kiri no mori matcha from O-Cha...I think I can handle class today now

The easiest way for me to appreciate tea in general is to go 3-4 days without it. That first cup after a long break is always exquisite.

Changing up my choices every once in a while helps, too.

No tea yet today, might brew the last of my YM Yame.

I am another that has not been drinking tea long enough to get bored with it. But there are so many types of tea, easy to switch it up if you do!

Yunnan gold bud again to start the day. Not bored with this one yet :)

Next up, about 10 brews so far from a sample of 2009 "Cha Tou Sheng Yun" Ripe Pu-erh from Yunnan Sourcing.

My tea brewing has never bored me! Although I do love trying new things.

Lapsang souchong this afternoon, probably going to drink some gyokuro later tonight.
