Hi hi. Welcome to a new TeaDay. Please come in and share what is in your cup throughout the day. Breakfast, lunch, and dinner, stop in and share your teas with us!
Yesterday we discussed whether we placed more tea orders compared to a year ago. You can still vote and discuss yesterday's topic.
Today's TeaPoll and discussion topic. Would you say your individual orders from tea vendors are getting bigger by weight, staying the same, or getting smaller compared to a year ago +/-? Please share why.
I am looking forward to sharing this TeaDay with everyone. Bottoms up.

My tea orders have been getting smaller this year...only buying 1-3 teas each time. This is because I have been ordering more frequently smaller amounts to make sure I am drinking fresh sencha and matcha

Good answer!
Over time, my individual orders have most definitely gotten smaller. Previously I relied on maybe 3 regular vendors which slowly increased continuously even to this day.
So, order less tea from more vendors.
Also much less urgency in ordering since I finally figured out that there will always be good tea.
Some SLT currently ... maybe 7th steep or so of today's sencha and TGY.

I'd say about the same.
I think I'm learning as I go along, and so less impulsive and less wild or crazed when I order.
Had a puerh mix a bit ago with some cupcakes (a red velvet, a lemon blueberry, and a chocolate - mmmmmmmm).
Now sipping some mighty leaf chamomile citrus.

I think I'm buying about the same amount of tea but drinking more of what I do buy. As I learn more about tea suppliers and teas I'm doing a better job of ordering teas that I like well enough to finish. It helps that I'm also buying samples or 25 gram packages as I experiment with chinese greens.
The first year I bought too much of several different teas and I just tossed a lot of it when I reorganized my tea cabinets.
In my tea cup this morning - when I finally reach the kitchen - a comparison round of several different silver needles - after the OTTI I've been ordering silver needles samples whenever I place an order for tea.

About the same. You can only drink so much tea.... so if you are already drinking it to "full saturation level"...... you don't need more. And if you get too much on hand ahead of need..... it gets "stale".
best,

About the same. Still sampling, refining what I like. But like yesterday, I wasn't placing orders last year at this time...

My order size is smaller this autumn because I am ordering from more vendors. Hmmm... Judging from the amount of tea that's recently arrived, it looks like I've been shopping with something other than my spreadsheet.
Shared some of Tea Gallery's Suzhou Bilochun with my son last night. Tim mentioned it in either the dragonwell or the shi feng thread and it is exquisite. You should try a little. I've been brewing with either 4 or 5 grams in 100ml at 158F for 15secs (1st).
Hou de's Bei Dao #1 for breakfast today.

Considering the fact that now in France all EMS parcels are taxed and that French postal service charge an extra 15€ to the customs taxes for each parcel, my tea orders are bigger this year (up to 300€).
Ippoen gyokuro this afternoon.

Definitely bigger. I am buying a larger amount from fewer vendors.
No tea yet this morning - very usual.

... working on the OTTI 6, heading to the post office in a few moments.
Began the TD with Sencha Premier from Adagio which came out pretty near perfect. SweeTea was impressed based on her consumption while Lil Bit and Precious made rare appearances to the TeaTable.
Next up, currently tasting OTTI 6 TGY #3 with the Mrs., will have to finish this one a bit later ...
