We're talking just tea, not teaware, right?

I try not to buy too much at once, so I can just consume what I have and don't have to worry about storage too much (I'd get pretty paranoid about it). Therefore I'm between 30 and 50 USD.
It fluctuates somewhat though, as I am still exploring and have yet to buy the same tea twice.
I have quite the list of teas lined up that I am going to try for the next few months thanks to this forum ;)

It depends heavily on shipping for me. I they charge $30 to ship to Canada, I wait until I can put together a hefty order before buying. If they charge a reasonably amount, I'll order smaller amounts more often.

Starting my day with some Golden Yunnan, and...

Happy Canadian Thanksgiving, everyone! :D :D

From 30$ up to 450$: Chronopost, the French postal service that handles EMS is so erratic for delivering parcels (and charges about 30$ in addition to the customs duties for each parcel) that I prefer to make one big order when buying from a shop that only ships via EMS (Ippodo for instance).

Ippoen gyokuro this evening.

Generally less than 100 USD and often less than 50 USD. My orders are really quite small compared to how I used to order. So, I try to order at least 2 teas per order in order to justify the shipping ... sometimes more though.

I spread my orders out over time and over pretty many vendors.

Began the TD with Sencha Premier from Adagio with the Mrs. This is 2010 harvest and it is perhaps better than any Sencha Premier I have had from our host, very agreeable and easy to brew. Lots of flavors and aromas!

Currently a tasting of a Shuppin grade sencha (exhibition grade) from Maiko. Oh yeah ...

Both of these are destined for a future OTTI

Oh difficult difficult :)
But I had a look at my recent orders - about 100 - but Euro.

My lower limit is 50,- - because of the shippment costs. It doesn't feel right for me if shipping is higher than the order value.
I have a list of vendors I'd like to try - and it is growing.
And I honor a vendor who has a good customer service and buy again.
So I am getting in a misery. - I really can't drink that much tea

I blame this on teachat - everyone of you is guilty of making me craveing for tea more and more - and don't talk about teaware.

Usually less than USD25-- I'm cheap and a college student, the worst possible combination for spending money.

Rose congou this afternoon; just finished some jasmine sencha.

I usually stay in about a $75-150 range. Any less and I start to feel that the order isn't worth it, any more and it's just too much money.

More OTTI TGY today! Also, admiring the Hagi SO #12 cups. Couldn't convince myself to drop $50, even though they are amazing. Congrats to all who got one!

My orders are generally more than $500, but most of that is not for personal consumption. I buy for my shops and myself, so maybe it doesn't count. I tend to buy a lot for future resale, so my orders are generally quite large.

I've just started my tea habit, but so far they are around 30-40 dollars. I usually order smaller amounts since I still don't know what I really like and I am just dabbling.
As for what's in my teacup... Earlier today I had some flavored green tea my wife picked out at the local tea shop. Strawberry Cream was the name and it was very very good. I think it was a blend of green tea, white tea, toasted rice and strawberries (some sort of flower too, think sunflower?). After that I had an iced matcha drink and just a little while ago I had a pot of Darjeeling that I purchased at the teahouse. A very tea filled day!

Probably am spending less than $100, on average, but have spent more, especially if combined with teawares. Biggest concern now is trying to match purchases to rate of drinking, so even though there are teas and suppliers I would love to check out, I have to drink a lot more of what I have already first.
