My newest was Japanese Matcha from Hibiki-an. It was their Pinnacle Matcha. I am extremely happy with it.

I think I've touched on this once or twice before, but for as much sencha as I've drunk over the past few years, my sources have been so limited that I did not learn anything. My newest and best teas have been sencha from japanese vendors. I'm waiting on another order from o-cha that includes their uji miyabi and kagoshima YM.

This morning I'm having the last of my warashina supreme. I think I finally have the hang of the brewing and tasting.

Miyabi and YM from O-Cha were the original kingpins of Japanese green teas available directly to the west. There simply was no other vendor so readily accessible. It was either O-Cha or it was domestic USA vendors who had nothing worth comparing.

Today, every vendor has to stay on top of their game as the competition is fierce to say the least.

Trying to think of the best new tea ... hmmm ...

I have had great new 2010 harvest of teas I had before, but I guess that does not count. Could it be a non Japanese tea, having had many great new teas through OTTI? I will have to ponder this a bit.

Nice tea boat Brandon! What material is it?
Enjoy your brunch, looks like a great place.

Chip - we need a second vote option on the poll.

Still pondering the newest/best question.

But this morning having a lovely lovely sencha moment, with Honyama sencha from Yuuki-cha, that is transporting me from a gray cool fall morning to a freshly-mown field of grass in the spring. Just lush, grassy, greenness. Apropos of topics earlier this week, drinking out of a yunomi from a TC TA (ginkgo), that is aging so gracefully with staining golden crackles on the inside and snow white still on the outside, brewed in a Tokoname kyusu discovered from a link on TC.

Newest and best was Suzhou Bilochun from Tea Gallery. Next best was Mandarin Tea Room's white leaf dancong.

I'd say Chinese, Puerh.

1992 Da Ye loose Shengpu from EoT is pretty tasty for the price. Also had a few Yiwus that I've been loving.
