Night of the Living Dead is truly a classic horror flick, although the makeup/special effects are left in the dust by today's standards. However, that is definitely part of its charm. It was filmed in a town very, very close to us. So yeah, it scared me as a child!

Possibly my fave of all time is The Shining combining Steven King and Jack. A winning combination.
Silence of the Lambs is up there to. I remember seeing Halloween when it first came out, on Halloween, yeah, that was horror scary.
Best scary music from a movie for me ... The Shining,
Halloween, Jaws.
Growing up, The Wizard of Oz almost scared me to death.

Our mod also was frightened as a child by the Hitchcock film, The Birds!
It truly is hard for me to pick one fave, I agree with Chip's picks with Silence of the Lambs being the possible winner. I also was terrified by Polanski's Rosemary's Baby and currently a different kind of horror with the original Swedish film, Let the Right One In holds a top spot. Have not yet seen the remake entitled Let Me In.
Best scary music from a movie is a toss up between Psycho (the shower scene), Halloween and Jaws.
