How do you clean glazed teapot?

by auhckw » Nov 2nd, '10, 11:21

For the past few weeks, I have been using my ru kiln (glazed) teapot and didn't scrub the inner part of the teapot. I usually just use hot water to rinse out the leaves.

Today I was wiping my pot and tried to wipe the inner part. I found out that I wiped out some stains (last session was ripe puerh) on the inner wall.

Will the inner stain affect other tea?

Should I buy a sponge and scrub the inner teapot every time?

How I clean my glazed pieces, especially the ones that have crackling that will darken, is I let the piece dry completely, then the next time I am going to use it, I pour hot water into it and use a clean cloth to wipe it out. It is the continual drying of the tea that will darken the crackles, so I always let mine dry.

i think a solution of baking soda and lukewarm water should do the job.
