Also a daily matcha drinker here. Trying different suppliers and their offerings to discover a favorite. Agree with others above that ceremonial (or above) grades make for a wonderful beverage -- culinary grade not so much.

Usually follow the matcha a bit later in the morning with some Japanese green tea. Also trying different offerings.

Very much enjoying my current journey of discovery into Japanese green teas. I might have to get back to Puerhs and Oolongs someday ...

I drink the most famous green tea in China-dragon well green tea ,which is produced in Longjing village, Hangzhou. /
It is the high quality tea made before the Qingming Festival, which is rich in tea flavor, sweet and thirst quenching. /

Because we work with local tea farmers in hangzhou.Authentic Hangzhou production.

Newman's Own Organic Green. It has strong aroma and strong flavor. Previously, I only drank Benner Green Tea, which is the Aldi exclusive brand. That one has mellow aroma and mellow flavor. Now, I will only buy Newman's Own Green. I can get a box of 100 for $4.49 each, which is reasonable enough for me. I look forward to trying Newman's Own Organic Black, but I am waiting for the 100 box to go on sale for $3.99.

HotLeafJuice wrote: I'm currently drinking some Kaboku sencha from ippodo tea, and although it's a good quality sencha, it's also VERY easy to brew wrong  ...

Does anyone have any tips on being consistent in brewing more "sensitive" japanese greens?
Thanks
I never had the Kaboku sencha, but i'm drinking the Ippodo Hosen sencha and their Kanro Gyokuro now. The Hosen sencha gets super bitter if the water is a bit hotter and you go past the 2 minutes steeping mark. What i do to be consistent is i always boil the same amount of water, exactly for 2 cups (240 ml total) , after it boils i set the timer to wait 6 or 7 minutes for the water to cool down (i don't use a scale thermometer) then set timer to 2 minutes for the steeping. If i wait just 4 or 5 minutes for the water to cool down and i steep longer than 3 minutes...its gonna be bitter, so the key is to use the timer and always use same amount of water for boiling (or heating) so you can keep ur waiting time the same . Some other senchas i had (from other japanese vendors) were much more forgiving, but this Ippodo Hosen (and also a bit their Kanro gyo) has no mercy for hotter water and longer steeps, it just gives you the "definition of bitterness"...i think this was the most bitter japanese sencha i ever had, but if the timing is right, its good  .

I was craving some koicha, but I'm down to my very last tin of the very lovely nodoka, so usucha, it is. These seasonal teas always break my heart a little.

I have been enjoying some of Omura-san’s Gyokuro. An excellent, fresh green tea from the Okabe region of Japan.

I've started drinking matcha daily. I think I like the ceremony of making it in the morning more than the health benefits or tastes which certainly aren't bad either. I usually order grace matcha but am thinking about trying gold matcha, has anyone tried it? I opened a thread about it too, I can't tell if it's good or just a average option trying to market itself as something better. https://www.goldmatcha.com/
