Re: What GREEN are you currently drinking?
Actually, not really. I am fanatical about freshness in sencha. Thus I will usually only have 3ish open at any given time ... hopefully and asa, a fuka ... and maybe another. But my goal is 3 sencha open at a time.Mrs. Chip wrote:I'm not tellin'!puerhking wrote:You two must have a smorgasbord to choose from!
Shuweet! Yunomi and tea!laura99 wrote:Yutaka Midori "Kaoru Supreme LE" in my cup this morning. Its being enjoyed in my new favorite Hagi cup.
YMS also being served here in Hagi SO 12 Spirit, a late start to the TD!
Re: What GREEN are you currently drinking?
Actually I'm alternating between these 7 since about 5 weeks:
- The one aforementioned (Yuuki-cha genmai karigane cha)
- Vietnamese mac cao (brought from Vietnam by a colleague)
- Plain organic daily 'Lu Cha' (fancy name: 'green tea') (from YS)
- Plain Japanese aoyanagi (from Chinese supermarket)
- Organic bi luo chun (the bagged one from YS. I like the bitterness and the kick it gives)
- A daily bowl of organic Yame matcha from Yuuki-cha at $30 for 100g. When bag is eventually empty, following matcha will be the Uji Yuuki Midori at $40 for 100g.
- Quick morning hefty cup of powdered sencha as pictured in another thread (from Japanese supermarket) (mixed with some Tenfu 'TGY' - also pictured in another thread).

Meng Shan Yun Wu from DTH
The flavor profile is somewhat unique...with an emphasis on nuttiness and a nice silky mouthfeel.

Having some Hibiki Sencha Superior, I've been liking it more and more since the first time I tried it.
Re: What GREEN are you currently drinking?
Very last of my Den's Yame.
Thinking of placing an O-cha order soon.

Lu An Gua Pian from Seven Cups. It has an interesting mineral flavor. I'm using my Heiss book about tea to find properly descriptive adjectives as I try new tea.
Re: What GREEN are you currently drinking?
I'm enjoying a tall glass of O-cha's Genmaicha with matcha.
Before that I had a nice session of Tawaramine Shincha from Palais des Thés.
My Chinese office-mates were very interested in the genmaicha, but ended up concluding after seeing and tasting it that it is "soup, not tea".

Ippodo's Hosen for me this morning. Very refreshing, sweet and a bit of umami.

Currently Snapple Green Tea ...
OK, JK about the Coke and Snapple.
Just finished a tasting of Hachiju hachiya asamushi from Maiko.
I think Kame Jirushi Gyokuro from O-Cha is next.

Re: What GREEN are you currently drinking?
This morning, Miyabi. Yesterday afternoon, Yutaka. Trying to decide which I like better, it's tough.
I found the first infusion of the Miyabi needs to be really short, like a minute, or it's really astringent. Tried it again, shorter time and it was lovely. Later infusions seem to be able to be longer. Got 3x out of it and still liked it, did a 4th and was more like tea flavored water. I know others like the 4th and 5th infusions, but for me they were meh.
Problem with getting to like and enjoy better green teas is that the tea at my local sushi place really tastes bad to me now. Guess I'm getting spoiled!

Miyabi Sencha in my cup today as well. I usually go with 1 minute, 30 seconds, then back to 1 minute. Most of my sencha's I go for 3 infusions, sometimes a forth if its later afternoon and some tea water is just what I need.
