Good day to all, good TeaDay to all indeed. Please drop in and share what is in your cup throughout the day.
This past weekend we discussed of all things, midnight movie showing, who'd of thunk it? You can still vote and discuss the weekend's topic.
Today's TeaPoll and discussion topic. When was the last time a tea made you say, "WOW!" And what was the TEA? Please be sure to share some details.
I am looking forward to sharing this TeaDay with everyone. Bottoms up.

<than a year ago when Victoria treated me to a couple of sachets of White Rose Tea, that undoubtedly is the absolute best rose tea, white tea I have ever had!!
Don't know where it was from.

It seems that members are not having WOW TeaMoments?
I hope I am very wrong however.
The recent Pu-erh OTTI and the more recent TGY OTTI served up pretty many WOW moments. And the current OTTI 7 & 8 is offering even more WOWs, but then again sencha always offers lots of WOWs, does not even have to be a new tea.

I've had some w0w moments with the asa/fuka otti/duel. The first one i tried, the Hachiju-hachiya from Maiko, had me a bit slap-happy afterwards.

The puerh OTTI, Yiwu was definately a wow tea in a good way. two of the others were kind of wow in a bad way, one was overly bitter (compared to the others) the other was sour, but cant remember which ones they were.

Not so very long ago. Less than 3 months. Most memorable wow was trying YM Supreme (Kaoru) from O-Cha. Most recent wow's have been maruyama from maiko and sencha premier from Adagio. Oh, the togei kabusecha was a wow too, but I'm not a huge fan of kabusecha so that "wow" can only get so high for me.

Re: Monday TeaDay 11/22/10 Last time you said, "WOW?"
Last time I said "Wow!" to tea was this morning's Zairai sencha from Norbu--the "Wow" was the difference between brewing it at two different temperatures, the lower temp I used today bringing out a much mellower personality in that tea. Before that, there was definitely a "Wow" with the Kabuse sencha from the OTTI #7 group tasting--after the first four, this one was so delightfully different (not that there was anything wrong with the first four, just the difference). And on Friday night when I tried the first infusion of the Sunpu Boucha, another from my recent order from Norbu, that also was a "wow".
I don't have a wow! every single teaDay, but when I am trying as many new teas as at present, there's a good chance for one with each new tea, and when I have an especially fine infusion of an old favorite, that also can be a wow! experience.

Jin Jun Mai from Madarain's Tea Room, brewed within the last month. I agree with every description that I've read about this tea, however my first thoughts of the bouquet was ``toasted dark rye turkey stuffing with golden raisins and plums''. The aroma is heady, intoxicating.
