I tend to drink more Heicha (Dark Tea), Hongcha (Red Tea), and Shupu (Ripe Puer) in the winter than in the summer. In the summer I tend to drink more Wulongcha (Oolong Tea), Shengpu (Raw Puer), Lvcha (Green Tea), Baicha (White Tea), and Huangcha (Yellow Tea). Of course I drink most types of tea all year, but the frequency seems to change with the seasons and even the weather.

I'm beginning to notice a trend. December for me is a time of high mountain oolongs. The winter harvest is in the mail :D
Had some wonderful Wu Ling in my cup this morning.

For me it is the colder weather that makes me want different flavors of tea. Summertime it is fruitier teas and iced teas - in winter it is cinnamon, blacks and bolder teas and they are always warm.
This coming summer will be interesting with my new found fondness for greens and other teas - I may spend the season exploring new teas..

To a degree, different flavors appear in my choices beginning in December. I find myself craving cinnamon notes, along with currants, fruity flavors, etc. Comfort flavors. Of course, the basic Tea is black. :D

I really don't seem to change general flavors seasonally... except for adding in mugicha in the hot summer months.

best,

I drink more chai teas, which I rarely drink the rest of the year anymore. Just too much flavor. But perfect for this month. Because even though I'm in Florida I'm freezing.
I actually just finished a big cup of chai tea.

Yes, most definitely - I have really been into jasmine for the last couple of days. It's a nice switch. I also love white with rose.

Started the morning again with Adagio Jasmine Pearls.

I'm having more chai teas as well, and more darker and roasted teas.

I had a black tea this morning that a co-worker brought in that was similar to Earl Grey, yet different.

I think I'll second Chips opinion on this new Limited Edition Asamushi from O-cha, warm cinnamon raisin bread... yummm!

And fitting with the look of things outside, I decided to have this tea session be a near white out.

Thanks Adam for whiting out our TeaDay!

Also glad to hear confirmation on the cinnamon raisin bread. When I made this statement, it was kind of going out on a limb ... such an unusual flavor profile for an asamushi. Perhaps O-Cha should call it Sencha Rou Gui!

For the most part, my tea tastes rarely vary much, and they do not this time of year either. Tea and food are so far removed from each other for me, and rarely do they share the same table and certainly not affecting the taste preferences of each other.

Began the TD with Yutaka Midori and followed up with Oku Yutaka Organic with the Mrs (another cinnamon profiled tea it seems, though purely coincidental  ).

Hoping for another tea today ...

There are a few flavored teas that I consistently like throughout the year: Osmanthus Oolong, Peppermint Twist, Masala Chai, and Ginger Peach (for iced tea). I voted Maybe because I might crave the peppermint and chai blends more in the wintertime.

My cravings definitely change with the season. Like IPT, I drink much more black tea, shupu, and aged Puerh these days. I drink young Puerh all year long. Also, I seem to be drinking less green Oolongs, not that I drank many to begin with.

Sun Moon Lake black from EoT today, a bit lacking in complexity but still nice.

Finishing the TD with a mini session of an incredible gyokuro, Tsuru Jirushi from the O-C with the Mrs. This gyo is just so sweet and delicious. Definitely NOT a December tea flavor thing.
