Friday TeaDay 12/10/10 Caffeinate me with ...

by Chip » Dec 10th, '10, 00:38

Happy double birthday celebrations abound. So let levity and jocularity be the theme of the day. Lift up your cups and remember to say happy happy happy to artmom and Herb_Master!

Remember to also stop in and share what is in your cup throughout the day.

Yesterday we discussed December foods. You can still vote and discuss yesterday's topic.

Today's TeaPoll and discussion topic. Just saw a "5 Hour Energy" commercial and remembered a suggestion by nickE. Do you drink tea while working/studying? If so, do you drink expensive or cheap tea? Do you use other caffeination methods instead? Energy drinks, 5 hour energy, coffee, etc.

I am looking forward to sharing this caffeinated TeaDay with everyone. Bottoms up. Bottoms up. Two birthday toasts ...

Usually I´ll drink tea while doing homework and studying...and it´s usually the good stuff brewed gongfu style. Helps me stay focused...with the little breaks and some multitasking going on I´m much less likely to get bored of studying.

Sometimes I drink coffee in class...especially my math class which is quite long. Can´t really brew tea in class but I can definitely run out to the coffee shop in the breaks!

Though I´m a bit disadvantaged since the caffeine doesn´t keep me awake...I just drink it because coffee and tea are delicious and I get headaches if I don´t have any.

Happy Birthday Artmom and Herb_Master!

I do drink tea while working studying - I only drink the good stuff! An occasional Diet Pepsi if I really start dragging by the end of the day.

I drink tea all the time in the office, and that's where I keep some of my best tea too. Today's office tea is Te Ji Organic Da Hong Pao from TeaSpring, in a clay pot from zen8tea and my new Jian Shui cup from yunnan sourcing.

I drink tea almost always when I work around pc, books or paper work. The qaulity depends on the mood.
I dont dring coffe or energy drinks, sometime coke if tea is not available.

Yep, I drink tea incessantly while working. All kinds, including the expensive stuff. And I sometimes caffeinate with a strong cup of very black c*ffee, in Europe also known as an Americano, for some reason.

Having some of that latter stuff right now, but eyeing some Peony (White).

I drink tea as much as possible, wherever I am. I don't have the full tea service going on at work, but drink nice bagged tea or sometimes gong-fu oolong in a cup I have just for that. I don't believe I've ever purchased truly "expensive" tea, knowing what that is.

I can't stand energy drink type stuff. The flavor or the marketing. Avoid.

This morning, Chiran Sencha.

I definately drink tea at work, but it tends to be middle of the road to cheap stuff that i wont be too upset if i have to throw it out because i got called away from my desk. I also tend to choose easy teas like oolong, white, or shu that can be forgiving if i brew too long. If for some reason i cant have tea, i will look to soda for my caffeine fix.

Earl grey again this morning.

I agree with John. I drink good to very good quality teas while I work.

Enjoyed huang guan yin for breakfast today, and Weng Jia Shan long jing with lunch. I took today as a vacation day, so the quality of my daily teas went up a notch.

Thanks for the awesome responses!

Also, Happy Birthday Artmom & Herb_Master!

As for me, I will rarely drink what I consider to be an expensive tea while working/studying. I find that I ignore most of the flavor when doing this and prefer to give the better teas my full attention.

That said, I will brew cheaper stuff with no remorse and much of the time resort to grandpa style brewing.

As for when I am out at class or the library, it is almost always coffee (bought from a coffeeshop). When I'm not in the mood for that, I'll just drink a sugar-free Red Bull. I don't mind the taste and it just serves as caffeine injection.

I have a Teavana 6 dragon portable tumbler/infuser, so I take tea to work every day. I limit myself to one can of caffeine free diet pepsi per day, but other than that it is tea. We can get hot water from the coffee maker so I can make mulitple steepings which last me all day while working. The lid keeps it warm longer and also safe from spills.

Today it is white earl grey. The tea varies based on my mood for the day and what sounds good. In the summer I use the smaller 8oz one to brew tea then pour over ice for iced tea.

Yes, definitely. I find that work and tea compliment each other nicely. School can be frustrating and tea helps me to focus and relax. Normally I don't have any other caffeination methods, unless I'm at a restaurant, in which I like Dr.Pepper or Coke.
