Welcome everyone to TeaDay. Fill your pot and share with everyone what is in your cup today, all day! Frequent updates are a must. Make sure you check out what is in everyone else's cup! If you need to, you can reflect back on your TeaDay.
Yesterday, we discussed 'which tea would you be'. You may still vote and discuss yesterday's topic.
Today's TeaPoll and discussion topic is inspired by Thursday's. So, today we get philosophical or just for 'fun' again. What teaware would you be...and why? Have fun or be intensely serious, whatever floats your tealeaves today. You can pick whatever teaware you want ... and please share details!
See you all on TeaDay. Remember to smell your tea ... and bottoms up!

Re: Friday TeaDay 1/28 TeaWare be?
Tea was easy, this is hard!
Am I pointed, sharp, filtering, open, running on batteries or timeless....?
Ending Thursday's teaDay with some silver needles, brewed up nicely in a glass infuser-in-teacup. This is one of the things for which I prefer these infuser mugs, but one thing I am not is clear, although sometimes I'm surprisingly full of dancing.

Don't know - perhaps I'd like to be a chawan, simple and yet very complex, and one of the most appreciated and respected pieces of teaware although on the surface it may look like just a bowl that holds tea.
Today's breakfast tea is Adagio's irish breakfast. Slept too little, needed something strong and black to wake me up.

A Big Mug. Not as fancy as a chawan, but able to hold a lot of a variety of teas!
Drinking 2009 Wuyi Medium-Roasted Da Hong Pao/Ban Yan Spring Tea today. Hits the spot on a cold day!

An infuser cup--practical, versatile, and not restricted to any particular type of tea.
Adagio's pouchong today--it's interesting stuff. Nice flavor, but almost *too* flowery, which I never thought I'd say about a tea ....

That is the first thing i look for, but don't havePoohblah wrote:no yixing on the list?

Re: Friday TeaDay 1/28 TeaWare be?
This is so much easier than yesterday, I chose other meaning yixing. It takes me a while to get seasoned with new surroundings/ routine but once i do, i do things well.
OTTI yiwu this morning in my yixing.

Re: Friday TeaDay 1/28 TeaWare be?
No doubt I would be a tea pot. I selected kyusu, but would gladly serve as an yixing if that would be my fate. I want to BREW the tea. There is no other vessel so critical to the spirituality of tea than the pot, and let's face it, all these other infuser thingies are basically a variation of a tea pot in various stages of declassé.
I love how serious a tea pot looks when it is brewing tea: hot concentration with a few drops of water clinging to its sides like they know they should be inside the pot. Nothing more pleasant. What is a tea pot but a modern day alchemist's alembic?
No contest. I would be a pot.
More Shizuoka Daily Sencha in my trusty Hokujo, who's stoicism I admire.

OOOPS, forgot to add Teapot to the poll options ... which could be any teapot not specifically mentioned.
