Good TeaDay everyone! We hope you will all drop in throughout the day and share what is in your cup!
Yesterday we discussed whether or not we kept a tea journal of some type. You can still vote and discuss Monday's topic.
Today's TeaPoll and discussion topic. $4-5 or even more, would you spend this much for an outstanding cup/pot of a choice tea of your choosing in a TeaRoom type of place? Please share!
We are looking forward to sharing this TeaDay with everyone. Bottoms up!

Re: Tuesday TeaDay 2/15/11 TeaRoom spending?
Sure. I love going to a tea room to drink tea. The tea houses are like little mini communities. It's a fun time.

Yes, for a really fine tea, well brewed, and ability to continue the infusions multiple times.
Ending the teaDay with a lovely herbal infusion--"Rugener Sanddorn Krautertee".

I would on occasion, though well-brewed tea is hard to obtain in this part of the world.
Having some oolong today.

I've not come across any TeaRooms (assuming it is a place where you order tea and hangout). But if there are, to spend $4 to $5 is not much to pay for...

Yes, I would, if there were any tearooms of quality around!

Yes, my husband and I love going to a tearoom/teahouse, not always for their teas of course but just for hanging out & playing cribbage
Current favorite place is Funnel Mill http://www.funnelmill.com/ in Santa Monica.
Just finished Den's organic matcha again.

I've only tried one tearoom locally that would be ably to meet the well-steeped' qualifier--but I still wouldn't trust even them with a tricky green tea. So it's far more of a theoretical yes than a practical one!
Re: Tuesday TeaDay 2/15/11 TeaRoom spending?
I would welcome the opportunity to experience fine tea properly brewed in a tearoom. The closest one to me is the Tea Gallery in NYC, and I'm hoping they begin once again holding tea tastings on Saturdays. They've been offering them one evening a week, weather permitting, and it's an evening I'm rarely free.
In my cup this morning, the very last of the Yu Qian An Ji Bai Cha (2nd pick) from Seven Cups. I'm not sad because there's a package of Ming Qian An Ji Bai Cha (1st pick) on a fedex truck making it's way across the US to my door.

Yes but rarely. It would have to be some occasion and with friends or something like that. I like to brew my own tea and $4-$5 per cup would buy some premium stuff for me to brew on my own that I know would be good stuff.

Yes, and I do (on occasion)! There's a tea shop in downtown Ulsan that I frequent; I took pictures here.
When I stayed with my aunt over the summer in Madison, WI I was dying to check out Macha Teahouse, which turned out to be fantastic. If anyone is around, I recommend you check it out. Here is their webpage and Facebook page.
Drinking some Korean green right now.

Yes, I would for the right tea. I had an excellent experience with a pu erh at The Steeping Room in Austin, Tx. I really wasn't holding my breath, but it was an excellent aged sheng - though probably not THAT old, and to this day it was the best pu erh I've had (I have not had many). I always wondered if they kept the leaves after my infusion or what. I think I got a 12 oz pre-steeped pot. Maybe it was 16 oz. I paid 7 or 8 bucks if I remember correctly. That tea room has some good teas and they pride themselves on knowing how to brew them. There were 2 or 3 places in Seattle that could be trusted as well, though there are exactly ZERO here in Shreveport La.
It's after lunch now and I'm having a blend of Kagoshima Sencha from Harney and Shizuoka Sencha from O-Cha. It tastes excellent well.

I have paid dearly for a cup while living on Okinawa. I would again, but it would be a rare or special occassion.
I've been enjoying a stiff cup (three a day, actually) of PG Tips. A co-worker gave me a box of loose tea for Christmas and I recently bought a box of their bags when I couldn't find the loose tea.
I'll admit I've gotten used to it.
