There is a Fukujuen Tea shop in Singapore. They sell the same range of Japanese Green Tea as like in Japan. But its a very small one and modern looking. They sell some teawares too, you can go and have a look if u want, since its at orchard, the main shopping area. Chinese tea shops are plenty, but because I dont drink, so I'm not really aware where they are located.
Re: shopping in Singapore
thanks very much for your reply,
can you tell me specifically where this is in orchard road?
i would go there for sure as its in the middle of town. i also know of a small japanese tea stall in takashimaya but im not sure if its still there or not.

Re: shopping in Singapore
That tea stall in takashimaya is Fukujuen. Lol. In Singapore its not that easy to find quality japanese green tea. But just nearby takashimaya, at isetan shaw, they have a supermarket that sell all japanese items. Its at the basement of isetan shaw. They have actual japanese working there. Very often they hold Japan fairs and during those times they would sell yame green teas. You can go and have a look =)
Re: shopping in Singapore
and just a mention, interestingly the way they brew their tea is different from what we know, letting the tea steeped for say 1 minute without disturbing the kyusu. Because we are able to ask them to make the tea and let us sample it before buying, the 2,3 times i went, the different people all used the same method. They pour water into the kyusu(with tea leaves) swirl it a couple of times, pour out the water. then pour back into the kyusu, swirl again. they repeated this for 3,4 times before finally serving me. I wonder if this is how the actual shop in japan does as well.
Re: shopping in Singapore
