Official what White/Yellow are you drinking right now?

White and yellow teas are among the most subtle.

I've been really enjoying Jing Tea Shop's bai mudan. I think I have to source silver needles next because so far white tea has been my favorite.

Delicate & subtle, yet full of flavors, is this white tea from Nepal! It is the "only" white tea I have enjoyed. Hopefully, it is the "first"; however, if no other good whites come my way, I am fine w/ this. The aroma & taste is not unlike its black or oolong cousins from Nepal, but lighter. The white tea's gentle way of pleasing earns a place in my tea rotation.
Days ago I had an accident opening the package (literally, the thin foil was ripped apart). I put the tea in a jar w/o preparing any. After tasting this tea today, I went to my garbage can to retrieve the foil but I could not. I remember that the tea is organic & from dhankuta region of Nepal.

How did you come by this tea? Local shop?

I try to keep my e-receipts from online retailers exactly so that I can find details for posting when I've transferred teas to alternative containers or thrown out the package already.

debunix, The tea was shipped from Nepal by buddhateanepal-- kindly mentioned by Teadoff in comments about black tea from Himalaya. I think they only sell 1 white tea. I tried to refer to emails -- but I cannot find some of my old mail & attachments get deleted. My account was under attack (I've changed passwords 3 x in last 2 months) but some weird stuff happens. I think buddhatea only sells one white tea though. Cost of shipping small amounts is high, but the prices are not.

Can one get a darjeeling that doesn't taste so flowery? I made myself finish the one I had -#22 I think, but I did not care it.

I have some good quality 2010 Bai Mu Dan that's been living in a tightly closed tin these last 4 years, presumably aging. Today, inspired by a thread on gong fu, I decided to try gong fu on my white tea. I filled my Seong-il hobin with tea and I've been steeping it at 180° for about 30s. The tea is better than I recall from previous years and brewing parameters.

debunix, Shangrila is the tea estate for that white tea from Nepal.

Timsmom, Some autumn flushes of Darjeeling may not be so bold w/ the flavors also.

Enjoying a nice wild white tea from Fuding. Nice, sweet, with mesmerizing experience. Wild white is rare and full bodied and extremely complex. A nice start for a quiet morning. I am down with less than 100gm of this tea and it is not available in this quality anymore. Nevertheless, I will just enjoy it.

For more info on this tea, check it out here : http://teaism99.com/2014/01/03/white/

Have a great day all my tea friends here!

Cheers! :D

It's been quite a while since anyone has posted about white tea.

When I was ordering my beloved TPHK from Seven Cups (still my fav source of That tea) I added a small bag of 2014 organic silver needles. It's better than I remember, or maybe I'm doing a better job of brewing it. If I had expected it to last through 5 infusions I would have used a smaller pot! Floral, sweet and fresh.

Started the morning with a couple of organic silver needle cups of tea followed by few cups of white peony tea. It has been a good day indeed.

Last night I finished a 3 pot session with a 2014 Spring Organic Imperial White Peony White Tea from Jk Tea Shop. It was less "barnyard" smelling/tasting then my previous excursions into white tea. Light, bright, and refreshing. Im glad I have a large bag of this!
