O-cha's Yutaka Midori shincha takes the award for this month, which I will be enjoying yet again this afternoon.
In the meantime, I'll be breaking into a dong ding in an hour or so...

Either Kanro Gyokuro or Gokujo Hojicha from Ippodo.
I guess they are both greens from Japan, which makes voting easy.
This morning, I enjoyed two steeps of Ippodo Shincha which delivers both power and flavor. Definitely a shincha with sinews.

It was a really hard competition for this tea of the month, with shincha season and all, but the first prize has to go to "Amazing Chinese Best Friend's Parents' Garden Green Tea" from Anhui, China. A wonderful fresh and rich taste, handpicked by my good and generous friend while she were home on spring holiday.
For candidates to next month's tea-of-the-month, I just got a box-full of many different samples of green tea, yancha, tgy and sheng from Gingko's recent Life In Teacup blog sale. In the other corner, I have (soon to be opened) bags of Kirameki and Sencha The Ultimate

My tea of the month was an oolong from Miyazaki, baizen. It's flavor reminds me of a few wuyi oolongs I'ved had, but a little fruitier. It's a limited edition, so I need to buy a few more packets and stock up before it's gone!
Today was a tenkei tori matcha in the afternoon and black tea latte before work kind of day.

There were some very good selections, Chinese greens, Japanese greens. But after opening a bag of Yutaka Midori LE from O-C, this was a slam dunk! Having had a few other YM along the way, they all paled by comparison, including one that was almost $10 more per 100 grams! The LE has such deep full bodied flavor!
And the aromas ...
Began the TD with the same, YM LE with the Mrs! Bangin'!!!

Blacks. Always blacks. I mean, I drink others too, of course, but I drink blacks most often. Must have something to do with being a former coffee fiend.

Green tea seems to always be the best way to go for myself. The tranition from hot to to cold tea is an easy transformation with green tea since this month has its hot days and some cold days....lovin that green tea!
