Re: Red & Black Clay Shimizu Ken Teaware from Hojo
Enhance the flavour is not what I would say either. The tea comes out deeper, not more fragrant nor richer in flavours. Just deeper. As Alex said, it is like putting a record on a good setero as opposed to listening to a mp3 on an iPod.

This is a good analogy.

Red & Black Clay Shimizu Ken Teaware from Hojo

Thanks all for your warms messages.

You'll love that pot when it arrives. An excellent choice, lovely shape and perfect size for sencha
Re: Red & Black Clay Shimizu Ken Teaware from Hojo
Love these pots (especially the reduction-fired)! Of all of my kyusus, only my antique Tokoname brews a better cup of sencha. Mine is ~ 100ml, and is my go-to pot for asamushi and gyo.
Re: Red & Black Clay Sihimizu Ken Teaware from Hojo
Got to try the red over the last few weeks and I agree. Drinking mostly Asamushi I prefer the flavor profile. But they are both awesome!Ambrose wrote:I like them both greatly but I am leaning towards the red clay more.

Is Hojoteas the only place you guys know of that sells Shimizu Ken's craftsmanship?
