Greetings TeaFriends world-wide. Please drop into TeaDay and share what is in your cup throughout the day. Also please discuss the topic of the day.
Yesterday we discussed TeaPartay. Please continue to discuss yesterday's topic.
Today's TeaPoll and discussion topic. Churng wants to know, "how many of you have the dream to eventually open up a tea shop in the near or distant future?" Please share!
We are looking forward to sharing this TeaDay with ... everyone. Bottoms up.

Re: Tuesday TeaDay 6/21/11 TeaRoom dreaming?
I want to be adopted by someone who already owns or runs a successful, profitable tea store, who simply wants me to sit in the front of the store, enjoying tea, sharing and discussing tea with their customers, in return for all the tea I can drink, and who will pay me enough for this service to enable me to quit my job or at least hire someone else to do all the irksome parts of it.
Finishing my teaDay and starting my teaDream with some 2010 Spring Wu Liang Mtn - Xue Dian Mei Lan mostly green tea from Norbu. It's a lovely little tea that encourages this sort of pleasant dreaming, and I'm gazing in my deep blue hagi cup where I'm sure I see my dream coming true.

Heh, my dream is similar to debunix's, except I'm just hoping that somebody (anybody) opens up a tea shop near here, and I'll become their "Norm."

Re: Tuesday TeaDay 6/21/11 TeaRoom dreaming?
I already did it
Though it's only internet shop and far from full time job, probably will take a while until i can make it my full time job. In future i would also like real shop. But it will be a lot more difficult to do.
One thing for sure, it's really good excuse to surround myself with all those nice teapots and cups
My dream now is to prepare a room full of teaware, will be really good place for meditation

I'm with Drax on this. I'll happily become a regular if someone else opens a shop near here, but I don't think I'd ever look to make this hobby into work(aside from the artist in me being interested in the idea of making some bowls and cups, just for myself most likely).
Nursing some major tooth pain after getting work done yesterday. Soothing with some Matsu no Midori from Maiko earlier and currently on my third cup of shincha YM.

I think I'll keep it as a hobby for now. Just opened a bag of Kirameki. Very nice

Q: How do you make a small fortune in the tea business?
A: Start with a large one.

The shop that I frequent visit with a lot of Dayi/Xiaguan/Menghai aged tea is selling away their biz for about USD3.5million. Comes with 1 shop full of tea + 2 warehouse full of tea + 100 vans delivering tea packets to restaurants + Franchise green tea in pharmacy + Hamper biz during festive season.
Should we all share the capital?

I'm not sure we can trust you--or any other TCer in the area--to keep hands off the inventory of the good stuff! The temptation, oh the temptation.....auhckw wrote:Should we all share the capital?
And while this was not from today's TeaDay (still in morning sencha mode), I thought I'd share a pic of my Seong-il pot in action, stuffed with some oolong....

Re: Tuesday TeaDay 6/21/11 TeaRoom dreaming?
It would definitely be a good way to spend an early retirement. I'm sure it's all about who you know though, of course. I have a lot of tea to drink, a lot more to learn, and a lot more working class BS to put up with before then.
Kiri-no-mori for me this morning. Feelin' good.

I have certainly thought about it, even in some detail. But no follow through so far.
Began the TD with a tasting of Aoi from the O-C with the Mrs, served up in Petr-Yaki from TA SO 3 ... such a beautiful "set."

Re: Tuesday TeaDay 6/21/11 TeaRoom dreaming?
I get to try that combination tomorrow, because I just finished off the last of my Zairai sencha from Norbu today, and I get to open something from my first order from O-Cha. I'll probably start with that, unless the call of the Sayamakaori from Yuuki-cha is too strong.Chip wrote:Began the TD with a tasting of Aoi from the O-C with the Mrs, served up in Petr-Yaki from TA SO 3 ... such a beautiful "set."
Re: Tuesday TeaDay 6/21/11 TeaRoom dreaming?
it's a dream that I have that seems like it will naturally happen sometime in the very distant future (I'm still pretty young...)
unless we all pull in together and create the 'teachat teahouse' right now!
some Risheehat autumn, and singbulli 2flush this morning/afternoon at work
