The Worlds BEST Fat Burner... Period!

by rabbit » May 21st, '06, 17:30

I had my fun with this on the chat, but I'd like to see others make fun of it as well!

The ORIGINAL Wu-Long!

"Burns 157% More Calories than Green Tea."

"Not Available in Stores." (so don't think about trying to buy it here, or any of the other hundreds of websites that sell it!)

"How would you like to drink away pounds of stubborn bodyfat and inches from your waistline within 30 short days?" !!!!1 no way!

For a second I thought, "OK, this is obviously spam," and then I saw that it was you, lapin, who was posting, and then I thought, "Oh no, he's joined the dark side!"

I haven't seen this page but I've seen one for "rare Okinawan slimming tea" which has the same exact page design with slightly different text. Not a week goes by where I don't have to explain to a person things to the effect of, "Hey, tea *will* help you lose weight, but only about 8 pounds per year at most (and that's if you drink the obscene amount of tea that I do), and you're not going to lose weight just by drinking it, and if you are then there are some chemicals in there that you probably don't want." One day I told this woman several times, "Look, they're guaranteeing too much. Most teas that are billed as weight loss teas have a laxitive effect to them," and she kept saying, "But it's all natural!"

So was hemlock tea, and any philosophy 101 student knows how well that works to combat anxiety, depression, and stomach pains.

But 100% natural! Which so many people think means "good" and it does not. One of my other favorite examples for natural vs. artificial flavors--almond flavor has to be artificial if you're putting it in food. Natural almond extract is more popular known as cyanide.

Well put, Richard. "Natural" does not equal "good". Another example: caffeine in coffee.

Coffee made me happy until a very recent time ago. I cannot get behind that statement :)

Tea reduces the ability of the stomache to absorb fats, so if you drink it at the same time as your food you potentially absorb less fat. Iron also so if you drink lots of tea watch out for anemia ;-)

Reminds me of Mike Petro's comment about puerh and weight loss on the medical claims section of http://www.pu-erh.net
Personal Note: anyone who knows me knows that I am a large man, and that I drink a LOT of puerh. I have not personally experienced any weight loss.

Slimming teas do help

by Weight Loss Advisor » Sep 29th, '06, 13:35

Slimming teas can help you lose weight. But you just can't expect to lose any weight by drinking a few cups of tea, while still stuffing yourself the same old way and not exercising.

Hmmm... 60 servings.. so thats maybe 100g for $37 and it's probably really low grade stuff far less than half the price at wholesale.

I need to start a nickle-and-dime-em site.

Oh, and the grammar in the Testimonial section is pretty killer too :D

You're all wrong about hemlock tea. It cures many conditions, brings peace and serenity :)

Seriously, though, there is a government standard for "organic," but not for "natural." Sugar is"natural" rather than made from chemicals, and if a food is loaded with it, they can still call it natural. But sugar is NOT a natural part of yogurt or peanut butter!

I suspect tea could be helpful for weight loss... if you drink tea instead of soda or juice. ;) Or rather, if you replace soda/juice consumption with [sugarless] tea consumption.

Not sure that really counts. ;)

i really dislike people's jump on juice as a fattening agent.
its not juice that makes you fat, its your fat arse eating/drinking too much.
