Greetings TeaFriends, new and old, to TeaDay. Please stop in and share what is in your cup throughout the day. Be sure to check out the topic of the day as well.
Yesterday we discussed the second half of 2011 ... and tea! Please continue to discuss yesterday's topic.
Today's TeaPoll and discussion topic. Fix-All. The Mrs. told me recently that I acted like tea was a ... "fix-all." The term has caught on and is used almost daily. "Do you ever have a cup of "FIX-ALL?" Interpret as you please and share.
We are looking forward to sharing this TeaDay with ... YOU! Bottoms up.

Re: Tuesday TeaDay 7/12/11 FIX-ALL?
Yes. We call it "the reset button." I believe this is in the same spirit as fix-all and we employ the technique on a daily basis.
Best steeps of Kinari yet this morning.
First one was brewed at 157f for a slowish count of 50 seconds. Second one was 158f for 35 seconds. Perfect balance of umami and those other floral/fruity/shincha flavors that I can't quite describe accurately.
Happy Teaday.

Somehow, tea just seems to start the day correctly.
Somehow, when things are going to hell in a handbasket....... tea just seems to help.
Somehow, when it is time to relax, tea just seems to be a great way to enhance that.
best,

Re: Tuesday TeaDay 7/12/11 FIX-ALL?
Probably not a "fix-all" but getting close to it. Good topic to talk about, nice to spend time with tea, all-purpose drink. Or so i understood it
Today i've tried preparing Yame matcha Seiho as koicha, i.e. 4 full bamboo spoons for 50ml water in preheated chawan, with usucha i usually don't bother with preheating
Even small sip of this thick tea filled my mouth with really rich and complex flavors, i felt bitterness, though it wasn't unpleasant at all and zero astringent taste, really smooth, more like creamy feeling because of high matcha to water ratio. For this kind of tea i definitely want some traditional sweets
Too bad i didn't try yet anything else to compare.

If tea was a potentially destructive beverage or substance, I suspect this topic would be quite different with words like codependence flying around.

However, it is great to have a good, healthy beverage that can seemingly Fix-All. It is SUPER Beverage!
A good cup of tea can turn a bad day around ... for whatever reason.
Great TD began with Kagoshima Organic Asamushi from the O-C with the Mrs. brewed up in Petr-Yaki served up in Hagi Sendai.

I gets the head hurts and the jitters without my Tea.
In all honesty Tea helps me relax, reset, and think without actively thinking. Its a great way to sort of take a step out of the world for a moment so you can better attend to whats going on when yo step back in.

Re: Tuesday TeaDay 7/12/11 FIX-ALL?
Fixing ALL stress on a busy day with some mellow teas today--Xue Dian Mei Lan oolongish-green tea from Norbu, Golden Needles puerh from Menghai, and will probably need a nice deep roast TGY or Wuyi to finish the day at this rate.

It is a good balancer for the destructive things I do to my body, rejuvenate/balance button
arya ruby at work
second infusion went about 1-2 minutes, emptied 3/4 into faircup, let the 1/4 steep for another 20ish mins, mixed together, not bad, not bad at all, probably the tastiest second infusion thus far when going the two infusion route

Re: Tuesday TeaDay 7/12/11 FIX-ALL?
Now that jingle for clap on, clap off keeps popping in my head ... except it is Fix-All, Fix-All ... I need a Fix-All to get rid of this jingle!
Maybe this is the million dollar idea to sell tea to the gullable masses?
Too sad? Too fat?
Have 4 cups of Fix-All
... each and everrrrrry daaaaaay!!!
Oh have you had your Fix-All Tooooodaaaaay???

Re: Tuesday TeaDay 7/12/11 FIX-ALL?
First off, I have digestive issues and tea definitely helps with those, but I find there is a 2nd benefit.. somehow it is just soothing and relaxing for me. At work, at home, no matter where, a good cup of tea (even iced) changes the entire day.

Re: Tuesday TeaDay 7/12/11 FIX-ALL?
Occasionally-- when I have a problem that needs fixing. I have a lot of herbal tisanes, so I use those to alleviate minor discomforts. Like I'll drink the ginger one if I'm having sinus issues, chamomile if I've got a stomachache, etc.
Also, tea can be very comforting, so I guess...it fixes stress...?
Yunnan black tea this morning; currently brewing some lavender-scented sencha. Oh, and I drank about a gallon of iced green tea over the course of the day today. There's another thing tea fixes! (Iced tea, anyway.) The discomfort of being in a non-air-conditioned house during a heat wave!

Re: Tuesday TeaDay 7/12/11 FIX-ALL?
this mornig : a Hon.yama futsumushi sencha from Shizuoka (2010).
I really need green tea to begin the day. I used to drink chinese ones (Long Jing...) but I discoverd japanese teas a few month ago, and I falled in love with sencha. One sencha a day keeps the stress away
Great topic idea. Tea is my fix-all too.
If everything is not fixed despite a cup of tea, try this : http://make-everything-ok.com/
