My mom sprained her Ankle today...
I remember hearing that Green Tea is good for metabolism/healing.
Any particular green that would help?
Re: For Healing?
Try Arnica gel on her ankle and the small Arnica pills taken internally. Tea is not going to do much.

Aged Yancha or Aged Puerh (20 yrs+) will helps her blood and digestion system circulate better, hence the cleansing of Ying element to promote better healing. No scientific proof in the Western world, but works for the Chinese medicine theory for over thousands of years.

Aside from the kind advice provided above, I strongly recommend your mum to seek acupuncture treatment. It is highly effective.
Good luck!

I also have had a positive experience with acupuncture. Tea is healthy, but it's mainly a drink, not a medicine, and it isn't going to have measurable or noticeable effects on healing in most cases like this, from what I know.
Stress, however, is one of the biggest things that hinders healing...so if there is a particular tea that you find to be pleasing or relaxing to drink, then it may benefit you through lowering your stress level...and this benefit is not to be laughed at!

i guess green tea would only help with healing but i don't think green tea alone would do the job

Re: For Healing?
Some help it will provide, trust me, as green tea is known for its highly calming effects due to the strong affinity to the liver (colour-green, season-spring, taste-bitter, etc. from the 5 Phases Theory/Wu Xing and TCM), and this organ being in charge of the smooth flow on Qi in the entire system:

Re: For Healing?
Calming I believe, but I don't see what that has to do with the liver...nor what relaxation has to do with recuperating from a sprained ankle.
