Strange Yixing Patina Questions

by needaTEAcher » Dec 13th, '11, 02:23

1 pot, 1 tea, right?

I have a friend that likes to experiment, and he really like brewing lightly oxidized oolongs with his spent puerh leaves still in the pot. He just got his first yixing teapot (zinni), and will likely use it brew puerh and oolongs. What will happen?

I want to tell him, "NNNNNNNNNOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!", but lately I have been learning more and more that, if you like it, it is the best way. Thoughts?

If he likes it, then it's fine. Although it will most certainly be a waste of money (and time) if he doesn't like it.

Well couldn't he just "Reset" the pot by boiling it again for an hour or so, if it doesn't work out?
