Hello!
I'm trying to find a good infuser to use with my teapot. I have a ceramic teapot that I usually use to make ~4 cups at a time. Currently I've been just throwing the water and tea leaves into a sauce pan, steeping, and then straining it into the teapot through an ingenuiTEA. It's kind of cumbersome, and I'd much rather just steep directly in a teapot with a good infuser. I currently have one of those "FORLIFE" infusers (see http://www.amazon.com/FORLIFE-Extra-fin ... pd_sim_k_2 ) which I really like because of how fine the holes are, but it isn't really big enough or tall enough to get down into the water in my tea pot.
Any suggestions on a bigger/taller one that still has pretty fine holes in it? I've been unable to really find one online that I think would work. Thanks!

Re: Looking for an infuser...
I can't think of an infuser that would work nicely with your teapot (especially not knowing what the teapot looks like, or how large the opening is, etc). But why don't you just steep in your ingenuitea and drain into your teapot?

Thanks for the reply.
The ingenuiTEA that I have is only like 12-16oz, and I'm usually making at least twice that much at a time. Otherwise that would work.
It's a typical tea pot shape. Roughly like so:

You could also brew in the pot and pour it out carefully through any strainer.
You do some really big steeps. Please share with us a little about what you are brewing and for how many people ... and why so much? (you could do much smaller steeps and then do multiple steepings ... you would need a smaller pot)

Lately my fiance and I have been hooked on drinking this stuff in the evenings: http://www.adagio.com/signature_blend/b ... scrollTop=
(essentially earl grey)
My typical method is to boil 4 cups of water, steep 4 tsp for 4-5 minutes, strain through the ingenuitea into the teapot, and add a little milk sometimes and a pinch of sugar. We just pour a little at a time into our teacups until it's gone.
I never thought about doing multiple steepings or anything like that, as the tea has always come out really good. The method works fine, I just would rather not have to mess around with the sauce pan and ingenuitea every time.

Have you thought about buying Adagio's personaliTEA? If you like making a lot of tea at once, it's 24 oz, and the strainer is designed for that vessel so it will fit perfectly.

Hmm, interesting. I'll have to give it a look. If nothing else, maybe just the infuser since they have replacements for $4.
The tea pot that I'm using was given to me by my grandmother, and I'm kind of attached to it =) That's why I've been trying to find an infuser instead of just switching to another tea pot.
Thanks for all of the suggestions everyone.

Re: Looking for an infuser...
I very recently bought an infuser from Teavana that's pretty huge.. It's almost 8cm (3 ¼ inch) deep and will need a cup mouth at least 2 ¾” wide. It will cover a cup 4 ¼” wide. It's their most expensive model, I forget what it's called, comfort hold or something, I use it with a big cup so it's like a big guiwan and it's great.
