Wow, it is already Monday's version of TeaDay!!!
Mondays can be notoriously quiet on the TeaDay forum. We hope today is an exception.
We have been discussing "how many teas we have open currently." Please continue to post and discuss this topic.
While you are here, remember to vote in today's TeaPoll.
This opens up a lot of discussion possibilities such as does tea help you lose weight, is it an appetite suppressant...or do you simply enjoy your tea so much that you just forget about eating...etc!!!
OK, I can relate. Today's TeaPoll question is whether drinking tea ever causes you to miss a meal or simply forget to eat. It actually just happened today however it was not only drinking tea, but doing TeaChat things which prompted this TeaDay Topic.
This is what distracted me from eating along with TEA of course:

So, stop by as much as you can and share a cup with all of us, we never close. See what everyone is drinking and tell everyone what you are drinking!!! It's fun to share our tea together here in our virtual TeaRoom.
Have fun with this discussion ... and bottoms up!

On occasion, I get so involved in a tea session that a meal is delayed, although I rarely get so involved that I miss one entirely.
Today, I've started with Jin Xuan green tea from Norbu, deliciously warm and mellow for a gray rainy day. The pleasure of a hot cup of tea is definitely enhanced by the contrasting cold rain outside.

it also happens quite often that meals are delayed because of tea.
but i rarely leave meals out completely.
Today i had Yutaka Midori (o-cha) just before lunch and in the late afternoon i had kanro gyokuro (ippodo).
in times of exams at university i often have tea when i should study, this happens all of the time, today as well

how does one really forget to eat
I have no set schedule for eating. I eat when I feel like it's time to eat.

If I´m going to drink tea the food is mandatory! It doesn´t go down well on an empty stomach

Re: Monday TeaDay 1/23/12 So much time drinking tea?
Firstly... my stomach will not let me not eat.. it reminds me profusely and right on a schedule too. I get VERY cranky if I have to wait (can we talk going to sister's house for dinner when they eat around 7:30-8pm and I usually eat around 5-5:30? grrr)
Secondly, I have GERD, so drinking tea on an empty stomach is not a good thing at all. Plus, I love having a shortbread cookie or something with my evening tea as dessert.

exactly my reason.

I forget to eat all the time, but I can't say tea caused it.
I simply have a very busy schedule.

Occasionally this happens in in the AM to me. The first thing of the day about every day is to brew some green. Sometimes I then discover that I am coming up on noon-time and have not yet eaten.
It is usually tea combined with "other things" that cause this. The tea "sustains me" as I get involved in the other stuff.
best,

Nevah.
Doesn't suppress my appetite at all, I actually drink tea almost all the time when eating, don't eat without tea unless I'm just drinking iced water.
Doesn't help to lose weight in the slightest (oh how I wish, need to lose 30).
Only keeping me from gaining more weight by being better substitute for my former wanton wine drinking ways
Won't help from gaining a few since being CNY, I passed on getting yumcha for last Sunday, but likely will load up the boat with selections from various local restaurants (LA being 2nd only to HK in quality selection of dim sum menu items) this weekend or in 2wks when my B-day comes...>>>can't resist, I'm a addict; and dim sum is a relatively inexpensive drug...until you need bypass surgery, that is

Definitely join the 'eat before tea' crowd, as some teas really don't sit well on an empty stomach.
