I also ordered one of O-Cha's shincha. I love O-Cha as well.
I ordered from Sugimoto last year and was very pleased, so I've already preordered from them this year, I also got the temomi shincha which was great last year. I haven't done my O-cha preorder yet but I'll probably be getting some of the Aoi and Yukata Midori from there.

Last year I swore I would skip shincha this year because I could never get a satisfying steep. Then I read about O-Cha Kirameki and I slipped. Now I've got a package of that plus a new supply of non-shincha Sencha Otsuusan scheduled to arrive just about when my current supply of Japanese greens are gone.

I know this is highly subject to opinion, but anyone want to advise a prospective newbie buyer? If you could order only one package of shincha, what would it be? Seperate suggestions for budget consious and money is no object would help. Or does price even matter much? Ocha is the only shincha seller I've ordered (Matcha) from before.

Zencha's Takumi or Ultimate (or even Kiwami) for me, though there are loads of other good choices too.

YM from O-Cha would win hands down. Unless I heard from the owner that it is an off vintage for YM.

There are so many great shincha, this YM is the only absolute must have shincha for me.

OK. So why is YM the only "absolute must have shincha" for you Chip? In other words, what makes this tea so special?

Thanks.

Best wishes,
