Green (surprise surprise
).
Mine was O-Cha's Organic Kagoshima Asamushi Sencha. Nice mild and sweet brew, nothing extraordinary or anything, but a very enjoyable, affordable organic sencha. I'd probably buy it again.
Started the day with Uji Organic Matcha and probably going to have some Organic Miyazaki Sencha "Sakimidori" (both O-C) soon.

Oops, when I moved this, I put it in the wrong forum. It is back where it belongs.

Having really getting into Taiwanese Gaoshans lately, I would consider them a new Favorite. It was a real tough choice between Taiwanese Gaoshans and Japanese Greens this past month, as I opened up a bag of Aoi which was delicious as always.
Re: NEW TeaDay 3/3/2012 Tea of the Month Club
I received a sample of a handmade wuyi rock oolong with a puerh cake that I had ordered from Essence of Tea. There was enough for two sessions of 10 to 12 infusions each, and it was love at first taste. Given the number of infusions I decided it was no mere infatuation, and ordered a number of samples from EOT so I can learn about this tea without committing to a large bag of any particular one.
Coincidentally at about the same time I purchased a small porcelain Seong-il pot. It has thick walls, possibly beause of the beautiful swirls. It maintains a good temperature, keeping the tea hot during those long infusions towards the end, and is just the right size for the rock tea. The serving vessel is a delicate porcelain that relates without being an exact match.

Re: NEW TeaDay 3/3/2012 Tea of the Month Club
Probably the tea of this month was the lovely spring 2011 "Tsou Ma Fei" Ali Shan oolong from Norbu, a quite amazing and lovely tea Taiwan mountain oolong. Sadly, that pouch is already gone, but I just got more with my most recent order.
Today, it's been all oolong, all the time--Da Wu Ye and Tie Guan Yin from Norbu, and now Po Tou (Ginger flower fragrance) from TeaHabitat. Mmmm.
Sadly, today's teaDay was marred by the end of a Seigan Hagi teacup--fortunately, not one of the very special TC SO cups, but one of a set purchased together that I liked to use for tea guests. I'm actually 'running low' now on ready cups in my office because several are out on 'permanent loan' to other members of the office. Now I feel a little better about having caved in today to the charms of this 'runt of the litter' from ChicagoPotter:

A white tea from China sold by Red Leaf Tea, First Love was my fav tea for February. A silver needle tea with rose petals -- attractive leaf and petals, pleasing aroma, and sweetish taste. Very enjoyable.
No tea yet this morning; I'm just "lazing" around.

Hi everyone,
I am back to TeaChat
and drinking teas
, after having got a huge backlog in my studies.
I am going to read and discuss more on the forum now. I bought several tea books some time ago and begin reading now.
My fave is now a green tea from Darjeeling's Ambootia estate.
I've just finished a teapot;)

My favorite of February was the Jin Xuan (cultivar) Lishan oolong from T-Oolong Tea. Wonderful strong scent and taste. Since tasting the sample I've ordered more of the tea to drink at work and at home.

I drank some not-so-great asa from yuuki, to be replaced by O-cha's Chiran. I had various raw and cooked pu-erhs from all over the timeline. wahoo.

Tea of the month for February ... and not to cause confusion ... or maybe to cause confusion ... or ...
An organic from O-Cha's designated "yuuki-cha" lineup found here: http://www.o-cha.com/green-teas/organic-green-teas/. Organic Kirishima Sencha "Gold" although there were some others close behind including Yutaka Midori, Aoi, and Uji Gyokuro Gyoku-Hou.
It was a great month!
... just opened a bag of Maiko's Hachiju-hachiya ... first session was just so so ... second session today was ... bangin'!!!
Re: NEW TeaDay 3/3/2012 Tea of the Month Club
i would name maiko's "Hachiju-hachiya" as my tea of the moth, although i also had my ups and downs with it from session to sessions, but the
"up" sessions predominated.

Interesting. Some sencha are pretty much the same the whole way through an entire bag. Then others are constantly different. Session 3 today was again different from the previous two. Session one was likely a bit flat due to just opening the bag, which I just mentioned in the what green tea are you drinking topic.aeflo wrote:i would name maiko's "Hachiju-hachiya" as my tea of the moth, although i also had my ups and downs with it from session to sessions, but the
