I'm trying to help my boyfriend who runs a local bakery. He gets his tea from a woman who owns a tea shop in another state, she mixes them all herself. They're very good but she puts way too much tea in each tea filter- so when people buy a cup of tea to go- they get really over steeped tea very quickly. It's also a complete waste of tea.
So I figured a quick fix for now would be to repack them into small quantities. I have the foldable paper tea bags, but they don't have tags or strings. These are less convenient for people on the go. So far I have found no info on where I could buy tea bags with tags, or attaching them myself.
The tea already comes in bags, I'm wondering if the best thing to do would be to empty them into all into tins and them use the longer rectangular tea filters so that people can pull the bag out instead of trying to fish it out of hot water with the their fingertips!
Advice? Recommendations?
Re: Tea filter issues- advice?
When Border's was open, they used the bags like those Adagio carries and they would fold it over the edge before putting on the lid. So, they work for those on the go too... I think they used 2 cups.. and put the folded over edge inbetween the cups.. this also served to insulate your hands while carrying the darn thing. I'd personally go with that solution myself.

I have moved this topic to Teaware and Accessories since it is a better fit. I have left a "Shadow" topic under TeaMerchandiser (its original location) temporarily ...

If you have time you could make a lot of these and encourage customers to re use at home, they would be very impressed to get a free reusable filter
I used a pack of these once, no problems with just one cup, trick is to twist the end into a braid at the end (tie knot if you can) then put lid on. What water that does creep up through absorption is stopped from dripping by the braid. These filters are long so its easy to tie.

.....Or you could just run a thicker cotton thread through each teagbag after you refill them, then tie it shut, dangle the string over the rim of cup and shut the lid, it should be nice and snug
