This weekend, a lot of vendors are having their demonstrations and whatnot at their establishments. I hope to find a small, narrow, rectangular plate (think sushi plate) for single person brewing. This is all taking place in Seagrove, NC. Here is their website. I believe one of the vendors is a member here on TC.

Re: North Carolina Pottery
Seagrove is pretty cool. I went through there last year. I do know that Jeff Brown is an aquaintance of John Baymore's. HE has a very rustc little shop down there. pretty cool stuff. there is a Japanese couple from Shiga that has a anagama set up there too..but they dont have a shop. Hitomi and Takuro are their names. sometimes the shop outside the pottery info center/museum has some of their work

Re: North Carolina Pottery
I was told that Jeff had joined TC, actually. Bryan had bought a nice little cup for gongfu from him. One of the artisans at the main welcome center (I can't think of his name at the moment) had also mentioned those people, Ian - and I still have their contact info. Thank you for reminding me - maybe this weekend we can try again to see them - they were unavailable last time we visited.

Welcome to TeaChat!
I'm sure our moderator will be along to contact you regarding our TeaWare artisans forum, but meanwhile, do you have a website where we can ogle your wares? The stuff posted in the link above was quite lovely....

That forum was created so teaware artisans like yourself would have a place to promote, sell, etc.JeffBrown wrote:thanks chip, I'll check this out...I guess I should look at the forum rules.
There are general forum rules located under Introductions. Then there are special rules for the TeawareArtisans forum located under TeawareArtisans.

Unfortunately we have to have rules to prevent abuse, and believe me, we get a lot of abuse!
Please feel free to contact me if you have any questions or need assistance!

The above links go to photos of our outing to Seagrove, NC this past weekend. (photos are all over 640 px wide, that's why they've been linked) Our past visit, we ogled some gorgeous sake cups made by Jeff Brown pottery - this time, Bryan purchased one, as well as a little "saucer" for it. Apologies for the poor photo quality - he might have a better one. The green tray is from Tom Gray pottery, and I picked it up specifically for gongfu set up.
We stood awestruck gazing at crystalline pottery and horsehair. Examples of these can be found on that website I posted earlier. Turn and Burn pottery, McCannless, and the Co-op of Seagrove pottery exhibit fine examples of these.
All in all, a fantastic visit!

Good to see you here, Jeff- I just joined my own bad self. (this is paul Haigh with a goofy handle on here, I plan on changing)
The wife and I went last summer and visited with Jeff and Michelle, who were our gracious tour guides through the approximately 100 potteries in Seagrove. There's too much to see there.
Swerve to miss a cat in the road and you may hit a wood fired kiln in someone's front yard. I was blown away by the friendly folks there- everyone they know is a potter, but they were still delighted to meet potters and give us a quick tour of their kiln/shop/studio.
