I think I had more wonderful sessions with oolongs this month than with greens, puerhs, yellows, blacks, whites or herbal teas, but no one tea was far enough above the rest to be an obvious winner for the month. So I'll leave it at oolong, and let the white, shui xian, mi lan, da hong pao, xian hong pao, tie guan yin, ti kuan yin, and hankook each secretly think that it's the winner.

I'm still waiting for my new teas. *Shakes fist at USPS* So right now I'm drinking leftovers, many of which should have been thrown out, but now they are my only option
My high fired Taiwanese TGY was by far my favorite seeing as how all my greens are stale.
My day is actually just ending... need to go to bed, but for now my tea of the day was a Rou Gui that has seen better days. I'll have more tea in 6 hours when I'm up again. Later TeaChatters.

Tea that really stood out the most for me this month would be a 2004 yiwu mixed with qilan gifted from the global tea hut. Special one indeed.

The balance between the two was.....amazing

Green... Haven't even had any other kind of tea at all this month.

Deciding on which one exactly is tough this time since I spend half of April drinking O-Cha's Yutaka Midori and the other half drinking Maiko's Organic Sencha. Both are definitely worthy teas of the month, so calling it a tie is only fair.

If I absolutely had to pick one of the two, though, it would be Maiko's Organic Sencha. a) because I've never had it before and I'm sure O-Cha's YM must have been my tea of the month before and b) it is an excellent tea whether organic or not. It actually being organic is an added plus in my opinion. I'm enjoying this one a lot (luckily still have a few grams left).

I'm becoming a bigger and bigger fan of Uji sencha anyway...

May will be shincha time! Maiko's Kinari should arrive in a few days. Looking forwards to it!

Is green with envy. My Chinese greens still aren't here. I think it might have actually gotten lost in customs because my orders never take this long.

My April fave was Bai Ji Guan from Tea Gallery. My son and I enjoyed a single stuffed pot for three days. Second fave was Zencha's Ultimate sencha from 2011.

Maruyama Asamushi de Maiko beat out a long list of new tea samples.

Maruyama has a nice, deep flavor and is a great value to boot.

Sure, certainly not the first one to receive the honor. I am a very open-minded sencha-alcoholic.

But as you well know. most times I prefer Fuka.

Either this speaks out to the lack of teas I explored in April. but in reflecting on those two months, the two teas that really stand out for me are OTTI samples 3 and 4. And yes, this does beat out the 98 Chung Cha 8582, which while long lasting, did not really tickle my fancy.

I think I've tried more teas in this month than before, yancha, shu, sheng, various Taiwanese oolongs, matcha, sencha, gyo, not to mention the OTTI. Though many were outstanding, the gyokuro gyoku-hou has just been mind blowing every single sip.
