Ok, i know its a long shot, but i picked up one of these at a yardsale today for $1. I still plan on brewing primarily with my teapots or gaiwan, but hopefully this will work for mornings when i am in a hurry and just need some tea to go in my travel mug before i run out the door. I know a few years ago there were people on here who used them so this question is for them.
What type of tea seemed to work best for you? I noticed the temp was reading 150-160 in the teapot so im thinking the water in the brewing basket is probably not much over 170-180 so probably not great for brewing blacks, maybe a cheap sencha or white?
I have the 2 cup model and it seems to brew in about 4-6 minutes depending on the setting. looking forward to suggestions.
