Thoughts from a new Hong Kong bo lei drinker

One of the intentionally aged teas, Pu-Erh has a loyal following.

Well, your review convinced me to buy a sample, and I tried it and bought two cakes! ;)

That's a lot of gu shu! I drink a lot of different teas, so my bo lei consumption rate is a little slower! ;)

Got my Taobao tea today. All genuine Dayi and they even threw in an extra brick of 2015 CNNP ripe! My room smells like brick tea now! 17*250g bricks should last me quite a while!

LOL Jay. You got 17*250g of tea and I just placed an order of 22*25g of samples! Lots for me to catch up I guess.

Most of these bricks were around US$8 so about the same as your samples! Lol

Drinking traditional storage pu erh...sheng that you can't even tell is sheng. Talk about wet storage! Sweet and smooth drinking...old school HK bo lei.

Excellent Jay. Not often I get tea like that.

I'm all into bo lei again after the brick I got in taipei. Turns out the 7581 I bought here is actually just traditional storage. I was given more samples of 7581 recipe bricks when I went in to confront the dealer. I left feeling stupid lol. The brick has NO sweet aroma...just storage. It'll be good drinking when I'm in the mood.

Mr Mopu seems to be happy with it as he has dealt with him before. This is the first time I bought from this gentleman and I can only let you know once I taste the teas.

Maybe Mr Mopu will pop in later to comment further.

I think he buys just before he ships. Most of mine have been bought for the long haul but i haven't noticed anything off when I received them.

Gotcha, so he's selling Kunming dry storage tea? While I appreciate that it's dry stored, I like a little humid storage (like HK home storage, not traditional storage)! From now on I'm going to try really hard to only buy tea that is ready to drink! ;)

Got this tea tray today too...takes up much less space on the kitchen counter and will last forever. For RMB 20 it was a very good deal. The first time I had high fire TGY and SX, the Fujianese dealer in the store had a tea tray like this. Simple, but works well and I've always wanted one.

I have one of those made from clay material. It will be a good addition to your tea ceremony.
And for King Tea I will be getting a couple of older cakes from him soon. I did get Spring of Menghai from him that was in good condition. I am like you in not wanting a bunch of humidity in my tea. The ones I am aging are kept in 65-70% humidity and no higher.
