Re: Nice Hagi chawan on EBay
Unfortunately with Japanese chawan, the good ones are expensive. They know the value of good ceramics, and the long history there supports it. This actually is not a really expensive one. Kinda' about mid-range.debunix wrote:And a nice price, too!

I was thinking of getting it but the $48 shipping puts it out of my price range.

I was actually just Got finished drooling over this chawan for about five min. Then I noticed this post. I don't really drink much Japanese tea but that cup is mesmerizing.
Re: Nice Hagi chawan on EBay
One of these days when I am in a very financially secure place, I would love to have a Kaneta Masanao piece. Chawan, Yunomi, Guinomi, you name it. If I have to pick a favorite Japanese Artist, it would be him.
So naturally I have drooled over many of his pieces.

It's really nice. But I've decided not to have any fragile ware worth more than 3-months' meal. I break things... too easily...

I don't care for the foot. He should have glazed the entire thing so it looked completely like a rotting molar.
