Hello all:
Last week I bought an Yixing teapot, vintage it seems, from a consignment shop in D.C. I had the chops on the pot and lid translated to Gāo jiàn fēn. Would anyone know anything about this artist, when and where she may have been producing Yixing teapots? Thanks for the help!
Best,
- T
Re: Need help with Yixing teapot
It would probably help get a faster idea of your teapot or artisan if you posted some pictures of the pot in different angles & chops. Thanks!

Shucks. That means I'll have to purchase a camera as my standby is in storage. I'll see if I can borrow a camera, but in the meantime, the pot is a frog on lotus. My laoshi says that it was made in the 1960s. I assume this means before the Cultural Revolution. He seemed to be familiar with the name of the artist but offered no other information. I did find a similar name online, but of course it was written in pinyin, no characters. Actually, none of the other laoshi could read the main chop it as it is written in an unfamiliar font.
I will find a way to get a picture up.
Thanks for your help,

Ok, here's Kermit the Pot. I can't get a clear picture of the chop. It just comes out blurry.
