Limpid Teas

by bioproject » Jul 13th, '06, 00:11

I just bought the hojicha and the wuyi ensemble. I've been making them right, I think, two teaspoons to a cup, and I've given them both several tries (making the teaspoons a little larger or smaller), but they both seem to be very watery, limpid--not nearly as full flavored as the loose-leaf teas I normally drink (yamamotoyama and republic) or even some bag teas (like twinnings). Have other people experienced similar problems with these teas?

What kinds of tea do you normally drink? Not only brand, but also specific type (e.g., "Twinings Earl Grey").

Also, brewing a cup of tea involves a lot more than just "how much dry tea was used." How did you heat the water? How hot was it? What kind of filter did you use? How long did you brew it? Etc. Details, please.

By explaining exactly what teas you are used to drinking, as well as exactly how you are brewing your tea, you will enable users to better assist you in determining the problem.

Kind regards,
