Yixing before and after firing...

by futurebird » May 16th, '13, 09:12

I'm looking for some photos that show how yixing teapots looks before and after firing, especially the colored clays.

Anyone know of any?

Well all of these things, like what should they look like when bone dry? do they get sort of white then get color back when fired?

How do the different colors look? Bone dry they seem to look more similar than they did wet... also how much more shrinking?

So basically... everything lol

Can't discern from the photo what clay exactly it is. But it's supposed to be a before and after kiln photo, and it's supposed to reflect the color contrast of zhu ni before and after kiln (not sure of the authenticity of the zhu ni but the color contrast is generally true).

Oh I would love to have a hunk of that clay.

This is also really helpful and eye opening, never seen a clay change colors like that when fired. Thanks!
