Storage tins
Can anybody recommend a website that has a variety of airtight storage tins that can hold 2-4 oz of tea? My cabinet is becoming cluttered with a collection of various branded tea tins and I'd like to move to something more artisitic.

1. Buy Adagio tea in snapl-lid tins.Anonymous wrote:The problem I see with those tins is that none of them have airtight seals; they're just slip-lids. I'd love to get either metal or ceramic jars with tight-fitting lids... I really wish Adagio sold their tea tins separately; they're perfect. :sigh:
2. Drink the tea.
3. Clean them out and refill them with other teas as necessary.
4. ???
5. Profit!

I was actually thinking the same thing.
Adagio teas come in tins. Why not buy tea from here and use those tins? In a way, they're free when you buy the tea, so why pay for them separately? If you really want tins alone though, about all I could suggest is looking at other tea retailers or similar stores. Maybe one of them carries what you want. I've never had enough loose tea at once to warrant buying tins, so I never looked into it that much. Personally though, I'll probably just reuse whatever Adagio tins I get. If I get too many though, I probably won't keep *all* of the tins around.

hahaha, jzero i suspect you read offtopic.com?jzero wrote:

There are four advantages to green tea... Its beauty, its taste, its aroma, and its health benefits. Learn to enjoy the first three and you'll forget you drank it for the fourth. ^^

LOL. Close - not offtopic.com but AnandTech (including their OT forum). I have to resist using OT-isms that TeaChatters probably wouldn't get such as "FTW," but I figured the "X.??? Y. Profit!" convention makes sense in any context.PeteVu wrote: hahaha, jzero i suspect you read offtopic.com?

i think that x.??? is supposed to be a step where you have to use your imagination. you have outlined the steps out for us pretty clearly. i personally, cant stand OT, but use their "OT-isms" fairly often.

This is on-topic
Container Store has some great ones - search "seamless tins."
I've been using these and am very happy with the results!
Edit: These do have an airtight seal - like the Adagio sampler tins.
