The U.S. Environmental protection agency doubled the amount of Glyphosate ( Roundup ) That is allowed on our oil seed crops from 20 PPM to 40PPM. On our food crops they are bumping the amount from 200 ppms to a 6000 ppms. That is thirty times the presently allowable amount.
A Swedish study published in the journal Cancer reported a connection between non-Hodgkin's lymphoma and glyphosate use. An Ontario study of farmers found exposure to glyphosate was associated with a high rate of miscarriages.
There are many studies linking this stuff to cancer and yet our Gov't simply says go ahead spray more of this toxic stuff on the food.

Monsanto can & will do whatever it wants. It can't be sued or stopped.
The USA is a $-Republic, not pure democracy as you know. Monsanto has plenty of $. Sad but true.

We could throw a "partay" in the Boston Harbor and throw all the food overboard ... but that might kill all the marine plant life in the oceans ...
6000 ppm sounds seriously high.
6000 ppm sounds seriously high.

If it makes you feel better, 6000 ppm is 6 ppt (parts per thousand). See, it's tiny now! (*tongue in cheek*)

You know ... that is freakin' insane ... criminal. Maybe this will be the asbestos law suits of the future.
Have you or a loved one eaten and gotten cancer or had miscarriages or suffer from endless migraines. If you answer yes to any of these you need to call us NOW. You may be eligible for a large cash settlement from 124 billion dollars set aside to settle round-up claims with Monsanto.
But you need to call now ...

Nope its illegal to sue Monsanto thanks to the "Monsanto protection act". It also made it impossible for states to effectively outlaw GMO's

Monsanto can, and has, been taken to court. The so called protection act does not keep them out of there at all.

Just wanted to make a point about presenting numbers. I don't know anything about the chemical and it might be dangerous at or below the stated levels. 6000ppm is the same as 0.006%. The left hand side looks a lot scarier than the right.Chip wrote:6000 ppm sounds seriously high.

I've no love for that company, but I also want to know truth. We shall see.edkrueger wrote:Just wanted to make a point about presenting numbers. Yeah, pretty much. I think the suit that a collective of farmers began got squashed recently.gasninja wrote:I misspoke not illegal - impossible.
The "protection act" actually deobligates farmers from ripping up any GM crops that have been called into question for six months. I have no love for GM foods (they have yet to actually bring benefits, increased yields are a lie), but it is also deplorable for a farmer who, having been forced to pay for a GM seed, to lose his harvest. I do not often invoke the lesser of two evils, but therein is the lesser of two evils.
