I have been emailing Lyn Cherry who has been struggling with health issues for a while. After a lapse of several months I received a couple emails from her. Here are possibly her last words to me ... which I pass on to members who knew her.
Entered hospice today. Stopped dialysis. Shouldn’t be too long before I finish here on earth.
Thank you for your friendship.
I may give my son or daughter-in-law your contact info if they feel the need to sell some of my teaware.
Love,
Lyn (going out on my own terms)
I am a bit too upset to remember her user name at the moment, but she enjoyed TeaChat and the friendships she made here. She has such a kind soul ...
EDIT: her TC name is artmom.

I had not gotten to the end of your note before 'artmom' came to mind. Sad to hear, but glad that she has hospice to help her through. Her contributions enriched us.

While she has not been on the forum posting in awhile, I remember her posts fondly. She was always so nice and down to earth on this forum. May she be at peace.

That's a hard thing for anyone to go through ... and yet we all do, in one form or the other.

My thoughts are with her and her family ...

Thanks for sharing this Chip.
I don't remember Lyn personally, but thoughts and prayers go out to her and her family. I agree with Mike ... she seems very brave with an amazing mindset towards life.

It's sad to see someone go out like this.
Though I never met this person I feel like I miss them.
Hope it won't be too hard on the family.

With the toll of a bell and the scratch of a quill, we will count her days in death as we did in life.

Seeing artmom's birthday displayed on TeaChat today reminded us of Lyn. I had been looking for any news of her passing, and then life distracted me til today.
Artmom passed away on September 16. You can view her obituary here:

You can also sign her guestbook.

I have wondered more than a few times, what has happened to her Hagi that she purchased through TeaChat SOs. I can imagine her family picking up these very unusual pieces and wondering how, why she had them. How do they perceive the rather extreme wabi-sabi of pieces like the ROCK?
Hopefully Ed will be there to share.
