Yixing Teapot opinion/advice !

by AlRogo » Dec 1st, '13, 15:41

Hey guys,

I'm new to TeaChat and would love an opinion on this Yixing Teapot.
I want to know if it seems worth the $120 tag, as I have never purchased from 'Life in Teacup' before and am unsure of their reliability in Yixing products.
I will be brewing vintage shu Puerh teas with it (only, obviously aha).
Any advice or opinion regarding the seller and prices will be massively appreciated.

Let me know what you think guys :) !

Here is the info given:

Clay Type: Qing Shui Ni
Craftswoman: Pan Bohong
Design: Fang Gu, traditional design
Strainer Type: 9-hole
Volume: 130ml (4.6 oz.)
Price: $120
Product #: Pot9

Sorry. I don't know enough about yixing to have much of an opinion on that pot.
I will say that I have made a few purchases from Lifeinateacup including a little shiboridashi that I am using right now and have been very pleased with. I have enjoyed the yancha I have bought there as well.
The owner is a member here and seems like a good person. I'll do business there again.

That's a brilliant help MIKE_B, thank you.
I am always wary when purchasing from a seller for the first time, glad to hear this.
Take care

Both links show teapots that look like good clay. When buying online, it is always good to have some trust in the vendor, and Gingko is a great person and knowledgeable. Her dedication to tea is impressive.

Thanks a lot guys, I appreciate this information.
I bought the teapot :) after reading and looking through Gingko's blogs and sites, she is indeed very knowledgeable on Yixing and is respected in the tea world.
Very pleased, happy brewing ahead.

I have one teapot from Life in Teacup already (Yixing Teapot Di Cao Qing Xi Shi) with two more on the way.
The one that reached me already I can not speak too highly of: it brings the very best out of my darker oolongs ... and it is very pretty, the ideal size and just overall feels good. :D

That sounds great, Xi Shi works well with Oolongs and Di Cao Qing sounds nice for your darker teas.
I'd love to have a match for quality Dong Ding Oolong, I might look at a similar one aha.
Enjoy your two new teapots, and thank you for kind words on Life In Teacup.
